In it, they play by turning or pressing the mushroom-shaped blob on top of the Alarmo to move and pressing the other buttons to shoot or open doors. Here, have a look:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">Gary <a href=\"https:\/\/social.treehouse.systems\/@garyodernichts\/113414374157540351\">said<\/a> it\u2019s \u201cpossible to load the shareware version of Doom entirely from USB, without modifying the Alarmo.\u201d And they\u2019ve put the software and instructions for running it <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/GaryOderNichts\/alarmo_doom\">on Github<\/a>, so almost any sufficiently knowledgeable and determined Alarmo owner can do it, too. Best of all, it can be done without opening the clock up at all.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">How did they pull this off? Gary explains in a <a href=\"https:\/\/garyodernichts.blogspot.com\/2024\/10\/looking-into-nintendo-alarmo.html\">blog post<\/a> that after another person called Spinda <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/_spinda\/status\/1845279277304119318\">hacked the Alarmo<\/a> (with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/23433594\/flipper-zero-hacking-gadget-wireless-pentesting-open-source-antenna\">Flipper Zero<\/a>) and dumped the firmware from memory, Gary worked out a method that uses a USB mode and the USB-C port to point the Alarmo to custom external firmware, instead. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">Given how easy it appears to be reproduce what Gary has done, Alarmo software modding almost certainly won\u2019t just stop at <em>Doom<\/em>.
