Symptoms include blood in the stool, change in bowel habits, abdominal pain, bloated stomach, unexplained weight loss, vomiting, and fatige.<\/p>\n<p>Surgery is the most common treatment for colorectal cancer. <\/p>\n<p>According to U.S. National Cancer Institute data, more than 90% of people treated for early-stage colorectal cancer were alive five years after diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p>Van Der Beek has been married to Kimberly Brook since 2010. They have six children: Olivia, 14, Joshua, 12, Annabel, 10, Emilia, 8, Gwendolyn, 6, and Jeremiah, 3. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Kimberly and James Van Der Beek attend HFC\u00e2s Brain Health Dinner in September 2023. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images for Hilarity for Charity<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Before Jeremiah was born, the couple suffered two pregnancy losses. <a href=\"https:\/\/pagesix.com\/2019\/11\/20\/james-van-der-beeks-wife-kimberly-almost-lost-her-life-during-miscarriage\/\">Kimberly\u2019s first miscarriage<\/a> at 17 and a half weeks happened in 2019 while Van Der Beek was competing on \u201cDancing with the Stars.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was just so much pain, and it was so unexpected because everything was right, everything was fairy tale. Everything was coming together perfectly,\u201d Van Der Beek recalled on his wife\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/show\/1s2pc2ldTHmMALPUdCCqe4?si=6d0a62d665254d45&amp;nd=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u201cBathroom Chronicles\u201d podcast<\/a> last year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt progressed very quickly into being worried about Kim. we were both just crying and sobbing and there was a lot of blood. Jeremiah Van Der Beek, thank you for being here,\u201d Kimberly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CWmGeXOr97_\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote on Instagram<\/a> after the delivery.<\/p>\n<p>Van Der Beek rose to fame playing Dawson Leery on <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/09\/02\/entertainment\/katie-holmes-shares-heartfelt-tribute-to-dawsons-creek-actor-obi-ndefo-after-his-death-such-a-kind-man\/\">\u201cDawson\u2019s Creek\u201d <\/a>from 1998 to 2003.
