And I\u2019m one of them. There\u2019s no playbook for how announce these things, but I\u2019d planned on talking about it at length with People magazine at some point soon\u2026 to raise awareness and tell my story on my own terms. But that plan had to be altered early this morning when I was informed that a tabloid was going to run with the news,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The former WB heartthrob shared that he\u2019d been <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/11\/03\/entertainment\/dawsons-creek-alum-james-van-der-beek-diagnosed-with-colorectal-cancer\/\">dealing with his diagnosis<\/a> while undergoing treatment \u201cprivately until now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Van Der Beek is keeping a positive outlook on the future. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m in a good place and feeling strong. Symptoms can include include abdominal pain, bloated stomach, unexplained weight loss, vomiting, blood in the stool and change in bowel habits.<\/p>\n<p>Days before his <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/11\/03\/entertainment\/dawsons-creek-alum-james-van-der-beek-diagnosed-with-colorectal-cancer\/\">cancer announcement<\/a>, Kimberly shared a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DBsYzlvtwtr\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">throwback photo<\/a> with her husband and wrote, \u201cWe were babies. So much life lived since then.
