Mainland China&#8217;s CSI 300 rose 2.53% to close 4,044.57.<\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.AXJO\/\">S&amp;P\/ASX 200<\/a> slid 0.4% to close at 8,131.8. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rba.gov.au\/monetary-policy\/rba-board-minutes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Reserve Bank of Australia held its cash rate<\/a> steady at 4.35% for the eighth meeting in a row, in line with Reuters&#8217; expectations.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p>Overnight in the U.S., the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.DJI\/\">Dow Jones Industrial Average<\/a>\u00a0slumped 257.59 points, or 0.61%, to close at 41,794.60. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.SPX\/\">S&amp;P 500<\/a>\u00a0dipped 0.28% to settle at 5,712.69, and the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.IXIC\/\">Nasdaq Composite<\/a>\u00a0dropped 0.33% to 18,179.98.<\/p>\n<p>The moves in stocks Monday came as safe-haven U.S. Treasurys rallied, suggesting that some investors may be reducing risk ahead of Election Day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2024\/11\/03\/stock-market-today-live-updates.html\">In addition to the election<\/a>, Wall Street is preparing for the Federal Reserve&#8217;s upcoming rate decision on Thursday.
