Trump White House win via Polymarket has raked in $48 million in profits on the wager, according to the crypto-based betting platform.<\/p>\n<p>The anonymous bettor, who goes by Th\u00e9o, controlled four separate accounts on the platform that each made wagers on Trump winning the Electoral College and the popular vote, along with some money on Republican candidates in swing states.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday morning, projections showed <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/11\/06\/us-news\/donald-trump-wins-2024-presidential-election-defying-the-odds-again\/\">former president Donald Trump claiming a victory over Vice President Kamala Harris<\/a> to become the 47th president of the United States \u2013 catapulting Th\u00e9o and his massive gains to the top of Polymarket\u2019s all-time accounts \u2013 Fredi9999, PrincessCaro and Michie \u2013 saw a combined $26 million.<\/p>\n<p>Media outlets have questioned the French trader\u2019s motives in placing such large amounts of money on Trump, but Th\u00e9o said the Polymarket moves were simply good bets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy intent is just making money,\u201d he told The Wall Street Journal during a Zoom call last week.\u00a0<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cI have absolutely no political agenda,\u201d the trader wrote in a follow-up email to the paper.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The trader\u2019s risky bets paid off bigtime as the mysterious figure held onto about $3 million in unrealized losses the day before the election while polls continued to predict a neck-and-neck race.<\/p>\n<p>Former president Donald Trump appears to have clinched the White House with a sweeping \u201cred wave\u201d victory across several swing accurate race predictor.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast night, Polymarket proved the wisdom of markets over the polls, the media, and the pundits,\u201d the company said in a statement on X. \u201cPolymarket consistently and accurately forecasted outcomes well ahead of all three, demonstrating the power of high volume, deeply liquid prediction markets like those pioneered by Polymarket.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The morning before Election Day, the betting site said Trump had a 58.6% chance of winning the presidency while Harris\u2019 odds stood at 41.4%, according to the Polymarket site.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the candidates appeared to be tied \u2013 each with support from 49% of registered voters \u2013 in NBC News\u2019 last poll before the election, released on
