And though she mostly stayed away from showcasing her singing talents this time around on the <i>SNL\u2013<\/i> the actual musical guest was Stevie Nicks\u2013she seemed to wow the live audience with her comedic timing. <\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The particular sketch in question, titled \u201cCharades With Mom,\u201d saw Grande play a mother meeting her son\u2019s boyfriend, Yang, for the first time. When they all sit down for a game of charades, things go off the rails between the two characters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">The confrontation culminates in fisticuffs and a kiss\u2014which wasn\u2019t planned, according to Grande and Yang.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cWhen we rehearsed it, [I had] a little thought in my head,\u201d Grande recalled. \u201cI didn\u2019t say anything because I was like, \u2018Everyone\u2019s going to think I\u2019m absolutely insane and too comfortable.\u2019 But I [thought to myself], \u2018How funny would it be if we kissed at the end?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Grande said the spontaneous moment was the result of being \u201cdropped in\u201d the moment. \u201cAnd it felt like what these people needed at that time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Yang felt he went for it a little too much, he said adding, \u201cI really have to apologize to you in person &#8230; I opened up my mouth too much when we kissed on SNL.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"Oembed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"Oembed b-article-body__embed-responsive\" data-chromatic=\"ignore\" data-testid=\"oembed-container\">\n<div>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\u201cI\u2019ve\u2026 Been Through\u201d (w\/ Ariana Grande) | Las Culturistas with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang\" width=\"1170\" height=\"658\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-kHeeMDzmZM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Grande agreed, saying, \u201cYou absolutely did.\u201d She added, \u201cI was shaking after. Not in a bad way. Just in a disarming way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">Yang laughed and said, \u201cI\u2019m so sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">According to Grande, the her character was modeled off of her real mother, Joan. And she felt what everyone needed in that moment was a release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"c-paragraph\">\u201cIt felt like what these people needed at that time,\u201d she said. \u201cIt felt like what these characters required.
