With his term atop the central bank <a data-i13n=\"cpos:5;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.federalreservehistory.org\/people\/jerome-h-powell\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:ending in May 2026,;cpos:5;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">ending in May 2026,<\/a> the next president will also be able to choose the next face of US monetary policy.<!-- HTML_TAG_END --><\/p>\n<p class=\"yf-1pe5jgt\"><!-- HTML_TAG_START -->Trump has been clear, in spite of initially elevating Powell to his current perch, that no third term will be in the offing if he wins.
