After Palworld\u2019s huge launch earlier this year on PC and Xbox, comparisons were made between Palworld\u2019s Pals and Pok\u00e9mon, with some accusing Pocketpair of &#8220;ripping off&#8221; Pok\u00e9mon designs. Image credit: Nintendo.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><\/output><\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Pocketpair has vowed to take on Nintendo and The Pok\u00e9mon Company in court, saying: \u201cWe will continue to assert our position in this case through future legal proceedings.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Patent experts have said <a class=\"link jsx-1337145738 jsx-3925284146 underlined\" data-cy=\"styled-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ign.com\/articles\/pokmon-lawsuit-shows-just-how-seriously-nintendo-views-the-threat-of-palworld-patent-expert-says\">Nintendo and The Pok\u00e9mon Company\u2019s lawsuit against Pocketpair is evidence of the threat posed by Palworld<\/a>, which has since gone on to launch on PS5.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">In an article on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamesindustry.biz\/nintendos-patents-were-designed-to-take-on-palworld\" class=\"link jsx-1337145738 jsx-3925284146 underlined\" data-cy=\"styled-link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><u>GI.biz<\/u><\/a>, intellectual property expert and associate at law firm MBHB Andrew Velzen argued that the shock lawsuit shows \u201cjust how seriously Nintendo views the threat of Palworld.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Palworld launched on Steam priced $30 and straight into Game Pass on Xbox and PC earlier this year, breaking sales and concurrent player number records in the process.
