However, the organization warns that this year\u2019s response efforts have far surpassed that number.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The international charitable organization reports being in the midst of the largest response since at least the year 2020, with ten states impacted by Hurricanes Beryl, Debby, Francine, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/tracking-hurricane-helene-florida-landfall\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Helene<\/a> and Milton.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;While The\u00a0Salvation\u00a0Army\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/disasters\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">disaster<\/a> services are focused on meeting immediate need in the days and weeks following a natural disaster, that\u2019s not where the things end. The\u00a0Salvation\u00a0Army\u00a0will stay in impacted communities for as long as need persists, providing services like financial assistance, case management, long-term housing, childcare, job training, and other offerings that help individuals and families get back up on their feet and stay there,&#8221; Kenneth Hodder, national commander of The Salvation Army, said in a expected to face challenges.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Due to the late occurrence of Thanksgiving in the calendar year, the campaign\u2019s season will be five days shorter than typical, potentially impacting donation totals by over $13 million, a spokesperson told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">FOX Weather<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The organization also faces a decline in volunteer enrollment, a trend seen across the nation.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The Salvation Army reported a 50% drop in volunteer numbers compared to previous years, which can mean a difference of $40 to $50 per hour at each donation site.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Despite the headwinds, Hodder expressed optimism, noting
