Kennedy Jr. who is now angling for a cabinet position \u2014 and reportedly got a text from RFK Jr. with five thumbs-up emojis to signal Trump had clinched the White House, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2024-11-06\/novogratz-s-ditched-trading-plan-shows-shock-speed-of-trump-win?srnd=undefined\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bloomberg reported this week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s over,\u201d Farley said early Wednesday, according to the outlet, which added that he \u201csounded buoyant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Farley is still a registered Democrat. <\/p>\n<p>But since he married the GOP\u2019s NYC Finance Chairwoman Chivacci \u201cChele\u201d Farley in 2016, his social media posts have been clearly supportive of Republicans including Trump, sources said.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><figcaption>Farley works with Love Heals that is dedicated to AIDS education. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>His wife ran unsuccessfully for US Senate in 2018 against Kirsten Gillibrand, and then in 2020 for US Congress.<\/p>\n<p>Farley is an SEC historian, having written the 2015 Simon &amp; Schuster book <a href=\"https:\/\/www.simonandschuster.com\/books\/Wall-Street-Wars\/Richard-Farley\/9781941393840\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noreferrer noopener\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\">Wall Street Wars: The Epic Battles with Washington That Created the Modern Financial System<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In December 2012, he <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.nytimes.com\/dealbook.nytimes.com\/2012\/12\/04\/time-for-a-bold-choice-for-s-e-c-head\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">penned a New York Times opinion column<\/a> arguing that it was time for a \u201cbold choice\u201d for a new SEC chief after President Barack Obama\u2019s White House victory, calling for \u201ca successful market professional from Wall Street, preferably someone who, like Joseph Kennedy, is not concerned with offending interested constituencies.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>President-elect Trump is making replacing SEC Chair Gary Gensler a top priority. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Farley worked as a partner at Cahill Gordon from 2000 to 2011. <\/p>\n<p>He did a nearly five-year stint as a partner at Paul Hastings before joining Kramer Levin.
