{"id":124110,"date":"2024-11-10T05:20:51","date_gmt":"2024-11-09T22:20:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=124110"},"modified":"2024-11-10T05:20:51","modified_gmt":"2024-11-09T22:20:51","slug":"nasa-astronauts-mum-on-who-got-sick-after-7-months-in-space","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=124110","title":{"rendered":"NASA astronauts mum on who got sick after 7 months in space"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The three <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/11\/08\/us-news\/nasa-races-to-stabilize-astronaut-sunita-williams-weight\/\">NASA astronauts<\/a> who\u2019d spent seven months living and working on the International Space Station would not disclose which of them spent the night in the hospital once back on U.S. soil during their first press conference since returning to Earth two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>All three astronauts \u2014 Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt and Jeanette Epps \u2014 were rushed to a Florida hospital after splashing down in the Gulf of Mexico on Oct. 25.<\/p>\n<p>But which one of them experienced a medical episode, requiring an overnight stay at the Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, will remain a mystery \u2014 for now.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The astronauts were stranded for 7 months.  <span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>NASA astronauts Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt and Jeanette Epps takes questions from the press. <span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Barrett cited medical privacy laws when asked by reporters who got sick and from what, but said the three were in good health.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>The astronauts were due to return earlier in the month, but had their stay in space prolonged thanks to a malfunctioning Boeing Starliner capsule and major weather events like <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/10\/11\/us-news\/death-toll-from-hurricane-milton-rises-as-florida-picks-up-the-pieces-from-the-storms-destruction\/\">Hurricane Milton<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSpace flight is still something we don\u2019t fully understand,\u201d Barrett said. \u201cWe\u2019re finding things that we don\u2019t expect sometimes \u2014 this was one of those times. We\u2019re still piecing things together. I\u2019m a medical doctor, space medicine is my passion, and how we adapt, how we experience human space flight, is something that we all take very seriously.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the fullness of time, we will allow this to come out,\u201d Barrett added.<\/p>\n<p>Two NASA astronauts remain stuck in orbit on the ISS.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Barrett is a doctor who specializes in space medicine. <span class=\"credit\">AP<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The three returned to Earth on Oct. 25. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/11\/06\/science\/photos-of-stranded-boeing-starliner-astronauts-raise-concerns-about-their-health-report\/\">Barry Wilmore and Sunita Williams<\/a> are set to return from the ISS in February, hitching a ride on a SpaceX capsule. Photos that showed Williams\u2019 dramatic weight loss while on board the station raised concerns about her health earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>They were only supposed to be in space for 8 days, but have already been up there 156 days.<\/p>\n<p>Barrett, Dominick and Epps said they are still readjusting to gravity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m a first-time flyer and fascinated by the readaptation,\u201d said Dominick, the crew\u2019s mission commander. \u201cThe big things you expect \u2014 being disoriented, being dizzy.
