{"id":124555,"date":"2024-11-11T09:56:29","date_gmt":"2024-11-11T02:56:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=124555"},"modified":"2024-11-11T09:56:29","modified_gmt":"2024-11-11T02:56:29","slug":"is-john-dutton-dead-yellowstone-reveals-his-fate-after-kevin-costner-exit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=124555","title":{"rendered":"Is John Dutton dead? &#8216;Yellowstone&#8217; reveals his fate after Kevin Costner exit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Kevin Costner is going to the train station.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Costner, 69, left the hit ranch drama \u201cYellowstone\u201d before the second half of Season 5, amid a flurry of <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/05\/14\/entertainment\/kevin-costner-slams-yellowstone-producers-for-bullsh-t-drama-contract-dispute\/\">rumors about an alleged feud <\/a>with showrunner Taylor Sheridan.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now in its fifth and final season, the show follows the Dutton family, owners of the largest ranch in Montana, including patriarch John (Costner) and his adult children Kayce (Luke Grimes), Jamie (Wes Bentley), Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Beth\u2019s husband, Rip (Cole Hauser).\u00a0According to Paramount, 17 million viewers tuned into the first half of Season 5. <\/p>\n<p>Where <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/11\/06\/entertainment\/yellowstone-season-5-part-1-refresher-ahead-of-part-2\/\">the show left off,<\/a> John was the Governor of Montana and Jamie had a full-fledged villain arc, working against his family.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly and Wes Bentley in \u201cYellowstone.\u201d  <span class=\"credit\">\u00a9Paramount Network\/courtesy Everett Collection<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The second half of Season 5 premiered Sunday, Nov. 10 on Paramount Network (8 p.m.).\u00a0Although there are <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/08\/27\/entertainment\/is-yellowstone-returning-for-surprise-season-6-with-rip-and-beth\/\">rumors of a possible Season 6,<\/a> Paramount hasn\u2019t confirmed or announced that. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>So, how did the show handle Costner\u2019s exit?\u00a0Did it send John off on a business trip? Did it take him to the \u201ctrain station,\u201d the show\u2019s version of killing someone? Did it find a different way to write around the Costner-shaped hole in the story? <\/p>\n<p><strong>Spoilers below<\/strong> <strong>on the premiere of \u201cYellowstone\u201d Season 5B.<\/strong> <\/p>\n<p>The second half of the final season kicks off with an episode that revolves around John Dutton\u2019s death.\u00a0Yep, it turns out that \u201cYellowstone\u201d addressed Costner\u2019s absence by swiftly and brutally axing his character. Ouch. <\/p>\n<p>The episode opens with Beth getting out of her car at her father\u2019s house, alarmed to see a swarm of cops and ambulances outside. \u201cThat\u2019s my father, what happened, is this a crime scene?\u201d she asks. She frantically calls her brother, Kayce, and tells him, \u201cI know nothing, but I know he\u2019s gone.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When Kayce arrives, the sibling duo enters the house. Solemn-faced cops tell them that they don\u2019t want to see, but they take a look, anyway.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s a body on the ground, a puddle of blood and a gun on the floor, and blood spatter on a wall \u2013 John is dead from a gunshot wound, but his face isn\u2019t shown (since it\u2019s clearly a body double, as Costner was not on set to film it). <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Beth (Kelly Reilly) and John Dutton (Kevin Costner) in \u201cYellowstone.\u201d  <span class=\"credit\">Paramount Network<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Kevin Costner attends the 27th SCAD Savannah Film Festival on November 01, 2024. <span class=\"credit\">Getty Images<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>As Beth and Kayce cry and hug, Beth bitterly says, \u201cIt was Jamie.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The scene cuts to local news anchors reporting that John\u2019s house is surrounded by cops, and he provided no statement. One local news anchor says, \u201cIt appears more and more likely that the 26th governor of Montana has died.\u201d (While this anchor is right, no real anchor would say that before reporting more thoroughly and getting confirmation. Oh well). <\/p>\n<p>\u201cYellowstone\u201d then checks in with Jamie, as he gets a phone call and looks sad. The audience doesn\u2019t hear who called him or what was said, but it seems to be the news of John\u2019s death. Since he\u2019s the Attorney General, Jamie holds a press conference to inform the public that John died. He gets choked up and struggles to utter the words. Beth is aghast to hear that John\u2019s death was ruled a suicide.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Beth repeats that Jamie did it. Although Kayce agrees with her that it couldn\u2019t have been suicide, he says, \u201cI don\u2019t think Jamie is capable of it.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Getting more hysterical, Beth calls Rip, who is off in Texas, and says, \u201cBaby, they f\u2013king killed him. My daddy.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The episode then cuts to six weeks earlier.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri), the evil lawyer who is sleeping with Jamie, is shown meeting with a sophisticated hit man.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>They discuss killing John. The hit man tells her that a staged suicide would be the cleanest way to do it, since a staged heart attack is riskier, as a toxicology report could catch them.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>After she gives him the go-ahead to act, the scene then shows Jamie crying in his room. <\/p>\n<p>Sarah comes into his bedroom wearing lingerie and holding champagne glasses, ready to celebrate killing John. She\u2019s confused why Jamie is weeping. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe discussed this and you said to go forward,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>So, it turns out that Beth is sort of right, but not entirely: John\u2019s death is Jamie\u2019s fault, but indirectly.
