Trump\u2019s victory in last week\u2019s election.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">The S&amp;P 500 rose 0.1 percent to close above 6,000 for the first time, and the Dow Jones industrial average rose 0.7 percent to close at 44,293, a new high. The price of Bitcoin rose more than 10 percent on Monday to above $88,700.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Markets have been buoyed by investors\u2019 expectations of business-friendly policies under a second Trump administration, including tax cuts, lighter regulation and less enforcement of some securities laws that target cryptocurrencies.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">To some extent, asset prices tend to rise after a major event like the presidential election passes without disruption. But the rise in prices \u2014 including crypto, stocks and currencies \u2014 has been broad across parts of markets that are known as the \u201cTrump trade.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<aside class=\"css-ew4tgv\" aria-label=\"companion column\"\/><\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"companionColumn-1\">\n<div class=\"css-53u6y8\">\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">\u201cIt has gone parabolic,\u201d said Andrew Brenner, head of international fixed income at NatAlliance Securities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<aside class=\"css-ew4tgv\" aria-label=\"companion column\"\/><\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"companionColumn-2\">\n<div class=\"css-53u6y8\">\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Some investors worry about the potential for inflation to reignite in the economy if the incoming administration\u2019s promises on the campaign trail come to fruition. That could push up interest rates and government borrowing costs. The bond market was closed on Monday for Veterans Day.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Bitcoin in particular has been <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/markets\/2024\/11\/08\/bitcoin-etf-see-record-13b-inflows-on-trump-win-fed-rate-cuts\/\" title=\"\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">booming over the past week<\/a>. Just weeks before the election, Mr. Trump promoted a crypto venture, <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/09\/16\/technology\/trump-crypto-world-liberty-financial.html\" title=\"\">World Liberty Financial<\/a>, in which several members of the Trump family have roles.<\/p>\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">The industry <a class=\"css-yywogo\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/11\/06\/technology\/crypto-industry-spending-election.html\" title=\"\">poured millions of dollars<\/a> into the election. Prominent crypto executives, including Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, the founders of the Gemini crypto exchange, donated large sums to support Mr. Trump. A group of super PACs also raised well over $100 million to elect pro-crypto congressional candidates.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<aside class=\"css-ew4tgv\" aria-label=\"companion column\"\/><\/div>\n<div data-testid=\"companionColumn-3\">\n<div class=\"css-53u6y8\">\n<p class=\"css-at9mc1 evys1bk0\">Some investors have warned that the markets may be getting ahead of themselves.
