victory in the United States is unlikely \u201cthe main story\u201d behind Bitcoin\u2019s recent pump \u2014 with an analyst pointing instead to a post-halving supply shock.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re wondering what\u2019s happening with #Bitcoin\u2026 Yes, the incoming Bitcoin-friendly administration has provided a recent catalyst\u2026 But, that\u2019s not the main story here,\u201d <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Croesus_BTC\/status\/1855992681689657654\" rel=\"null noopener\" target=\"null\" text=\"null\" title=\"null\">said<\/a> Onramp Bitcoin co-founder Jesse Myers in a post on X on Nov. 11.\u00a0<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe main story here is that we are 6+ months post-halving.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The Bitcoin (<a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/bitcoin-price\" rel=\"null noopener\" target=\"null\" text=\"null\" title=\"null\">BTC<\/a>) <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-halving\" rel=\"null noopener\" target=\"null\" text=\"null\" title=\"null\">halving in April<\/a> cut block rewards from 6.25 BTC to 3.125 BTC, which means every next block becomes harder to solve for less reward.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He added that this means a <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/bitcoin-halving-liquidity-mining-btc\" rel=\"null noopener\" target=\"null\" text=\"null\" title=\"null\">supply shock<\/a> has accumulated, \u201cThere\u2019s not enough supply available at current prices to satisfy demand,\u201d and supply-demand price equilibrium must be restored.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe only way to do that is for the price to go higher, which will flywheel into mania and a bubble, but that\u2019s how this thing works.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He added that it sounds crazy to say there will be a reliable and predictable bubble every four years, but there has never been an asset in the world where new supply creation is halved every four years.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA post-halving bubble is the result,\u201d he added, highlighting that this happened before after <a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/learn\/bitcoin-halving-how-does-the-halving-cycle-work-and-why-does-it-matter\" rel=\"null noopener\" target=\"null\" text=\"null\" title=\"null\">halvings<\/a> in 2012, 2016, and 2020, and now it is happening again, and prices will go much higher.\u00a0<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Bitcoin Halving\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/_Checkmatey_\/status\/1856116698023350642\" rel=\"null noopener\" target=\"null\" text=\"null\" title=\"null\">echoed<\/a> the sentiment comparing Bitcoin\u2019s market cap to gold\u2019s, which has added around $6 trillion over the past year but has \u201chundreds of billions of new and recycled supply coming to market.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin is just $1.6 trillion in market cap and is \u201cabsolutely scarce with holders who have been through hell many times,\u201d so it will go higher, he predicted.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Related: <\/strong><\/em><a data-ct-non-breakable=\"null\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Scaramucci\/status\/1856132547035705688\" rel=\"null noopener\" target=\"null\" text=\"null\" title=\"null\">hinted<\/a> at the same thing, stating to those not already long on Bitcoin, \u201cIt may feel like you missed it, but you didn\u2019t.
