However, the label does not warn consumers that the product \u201ccontains milk.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>Many social media users were quick to mock the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.independent.co.uk\/topic\/recall\">recall<\/a>, pointing out that shoppers shouldn\u2019t need to be warned that butter contains milk. <\/p>\n<p>Kristen Meg, an X user, wrote: \u201cAs someone with serious dietary restrictions, I am sympathetic to this issue but I have to say\u2026this is pretty ridiculous. We all know butter contains milk.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And another X user added: \u201cCan y\u2019all please safely dispose of it at my house? I have a lot of holiday baking to do.\u201d<a rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/cactusncookies\/status\/1855848231097295356\"> <\/a><\/p>\n<p>The FDA listed the recall as Class II in November, meaning it is \u201ca situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability or serious adverse health consequences is remote.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Milk can contribute to some of the \u201cmost serious allergic reactions in the United States,\u201d according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Independent<\/em> has reached out to the FDA and Costco for more information.
