During his tenure, Ratcliffe publicly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2020\/09\/29\/politics\/ratcliffe-russia-intel\/index.html\">released unverified information<\/a> about Russia\u2019s influence in the 2016 presidential election over the objection of members of the intelligence community. Critics claimed at the time that Ratcliffe was using intelligence to help Trump politically as the 2020 presidential election approached.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm3f1ojpf000s3b5v36s22jvy@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Ratcliffe stayed in his position during the 2020 election and presidential transition, during which he personally told Trump and his allies that there was no evidence of foreign election interference or widespread fraud.
