{"id":125349,"date":"2024-11-13T12:34:53","date_gmt":"2024-11-13T05:34:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=125349"},"modified":"2024-11-13T12:34:53","modified_gmt":"2024-11-13T05:34:53","slug":"houthis-attack-us-warships-after-us-strikes-in-yemen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=125349","title":{"rendered":"Houthis attack US warships after US strikes in Yemen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\">\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">A multiple-missile attack by Yemen&#8217;s Houthi rebels on two US warships has been thwarted, the Pentagon has said. <!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">At least eight drones, five anti-ship ballistic missiles and three anti-ship cruise missiles were aimed at the USS Stockdale and the USS Spruance on Monday. <!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">The vessels shot down the projectiles and were &#8220;not damaged and no personnel were hurt,&#8221; Pentagon press secretary Air Force Major Gen Pat Ryder told reporters on Tuesday. <!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">The attack followed a series of airstrikes made by the US Central Command against Houthi weapons storage bases in Yemen.<!-- --><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\">\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">The attack happened while the Iranian-backed rebel group were travelling through the Bab el-Mandeb strait, a waterway between the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. <!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Al-Masirah TV, the main television news outlet run by Yemen&#8217;s Houthi movement, said that a series of airstrikes had targeted two US warships and a third vessel in the Arabian Sea.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">The group&#8217;s military spokesman, Yahya al-Sarea, said in a statement on X that the rebels had &#8220;successfully&#8221; bombarded the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier with a number of cruise missiles.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Ryder said he was &#8220;not aware of any attacks&#8221; on the Abraham Lincoln vessel.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">&#8220;We will continue to make clear to the Houthis there will be consequences for their illegal and reckless attacks,&#8221; he said.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">The Houthis are part of a network of armed groups in the Middle East backed by Iran that includes Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">They  have repeatedly targeted commercial shipping in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden since November 2023.
