The South Korean president <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/south-korea-yoon-wife-scandal-ba065a2f07d5fc4a63fe0e4d36de12f6\">told reporters<\/a><\/span> later that while things couldn\u2019t remain the same as under the Biden administration, \u201cwe have been preparing to hedge these risks for a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And apparently, a game of golf may be what\u2019s needed.<\/p>\n<p>Local media said Yoon went to a Seoul golf course on Saturday, but the presidential office said it couldn\u2019t confirm the reports.<\/p>\n<p>A senior presidential official, speaking on condition of anonymity in a background briefing, said that while he didn\u2019t know how hard Yoon practiced golf, training was necessary as \u201cour president also has to hit a ball properly to get conversations going on\u201d with Trump, who has \u201coutstanding\u201d golf skills.<\/p>\n<p>Yoon isn\u2019t the first world leader to try to use golf to develop relations with Trump. <\/p>\n<p>When he was in office, Japan\u2019s <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/shinzo-abe-japan-government-homicide-assassinations-8267d689b9f63d5461bddf4f880dddc3\">assassinated<\/a><\/span> prime minister, Shinzo Abe, struck up a personal friendship with then-President Trump, on <span class=\"LinkEnhancement\"><a class=\"Link AnClick-LinkEnhancement\" data-gtm-enhancement-style=\"LinkEnhancementA\" href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/c2ee25bace1242c0a89708aa7e1703ab\">the greens of golf clubs<\/a><\/span> both in Japan and the U.S. In 2017, Abe said that a round of golf with Trump was a good chance to relax and discuss difficult issues.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script>\n  window.fbAsyncInit = function() {\n      FB.init({\n              appId : '870613919693099',\n          xfbml : true,\n          version : 'v2.9'\n      });\n  };\n  (function(d, s, id){\n     var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];\n     if (d.getElementById(id)) {return;}\n     js = d.createElement(s);
