It also lifted its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/terms\/e\/eps.asp\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\">earnings per share<\/a> projection to between $2.26 and $2.38, up from $1.93 to $2.05.<span class=\"ql-inline-citation\" data-cite=\"2\"\/>\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_10-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block finance-sc-block-html mntl-sc-block-html\"> The results come after Cisco <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/cisco-announced-another-major-round-of-layoffs-its-stock-rallied-8695582\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\">cut about 7% of its workforce<\/a> a quarter ago, as part of a pivot to higher-growth areas like cybersecurity and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.investopedia.com\/terms\/a\/artificial-intelligence-ai.asp\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"internalLink\" data-ordinal=\"2\">artificial intelligence<\/a>. That move followed a 5% cut in February that affected roughly 4,250 employees.\n<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_12-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block finance-sc-block-html mntl-sc-block-html\"> Shares of Cisco were little changed in extended trading Wednesday following the release.
