A rep for <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/amazon\/\" id=\"auto-tag_amazon\" data-tag=\"amazon\">Amazon<\/a> MGM Studios declined comment. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAs we <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2024\/10\/tomb-raider-sophie-turner-lucy-boynton-lara-croft-1236161243\/\">reported exclusively last month<\/a>, the<em> Game Of Thrones<\/em> alumna was among the actresses who tested for the high-profile role, previously played on the big screen by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<em>Tomb Raider,<\/em> which Amazon MGM Studios Head Jennifer Salke called \u201cepic\u201d and \u201cglobe-trotting\u201d while announcing the series order in May, has been a passion project for writer\/executive producer Waller-Bridge, who spoke fondly of the title character at the time of the pickup.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cLara Croft means a lot to me, as she does to many, and I can\u2019t wait to go on this adventure. Bats \u2018n all,\u201d she said in May.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<em>Tomb Raider<\/em> is executive produced by Waller-Bridge and Jenny Robins through Wells Street Productions, Dmitri M. Johnson through dj2 Entertainment, Michael Scheel, and rights holders Legendary Television as well as Crystal Dynamics. Greenblatt and Andolina are consulting producers under their Star Party banner. The series is produced by Crystal Dynamics and Amazon MGM Studios.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tTurner, an Emmy nominee for her first major role as Sansa Stark on <em>Game Of Thrones<\/em>, currently headlines the British crime drama limited series <em>Joan<\/em> and next stars in another British show,<em> Haven<\/em>, for Prime Video, home of the <em>Tomb Raider<\/em> series.
