We hear it wasn\u2019t certain that one pertained to the continuing adventures of Daisy Ridley\u2019s Rey Skywalker.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tGoing in that spot is <em>Ice Age 6 <\/em>which was announced at D23 Brazil a week ago. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAs Deadline first reported,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/simon-kinberg\/\">Simon Kinberg<\/a>\u00a0is now developing a trilogy of\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/star-wars\/\">Star Wars<\/a><\/em>\u00a0movies which he\u2019ll produce with Lucasfilm chief Kathleen Kennedy. The trilogy will comprise Episodes 10-12 of\u00a0<em>The Skywalker Saga<\/em>\u00a0that began with George Lucas\u2019 1977 first film. Kinberg\u2019s project is brewing alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2023\/04\/star-wars-celebration-2023-new-movie-casting-release-dates-1235319021\/\">percolating\u00a0<em>Star Wars<\/em>\u00a0projects<\/a>\u00a0by James Mangold, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Taika Waititi and Donald Glover.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThere\u2019s already a <em>Star Wars <\/em>movie in 2026 \u2014 that\u2019s <em>The Mandalorian &amp; Grogu <\/em>on May 22 that year<em>. <\/em>It would have been a first in the history of filmmaking that two <em>Star Wars <\/em>movies would open in the same year, specifically within a six month-ish frame. Box office history has shown that it\u2019s best to space them out. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tRemaining on the calendar is a <em>Star Wars <\/em>movie for Dec. 17, 2027.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tOriginal <em>Ice Age <\/em>castmembers Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Queen Latifah, Denis Leary and Simon Pegg are returning for the sixthquel.\u00a0The first five <em>Ice Age <\/em>movies have grossed over $3.2 billion worldwide. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tUnder the control of Disney, the <em>Star Wars <\/em>franchise saw its biggest grosses ever in 2015\u2019s <em>Star Wars: The Force Awakens. <\/em>That movie remains the highest grossing movie ever at the domestic box office with $936.6M.
