Under Musk\u2019s changes to that platform, however, only premium subscribers are able to send DMs to the DOGE account. Those run from $8 to $16 per month.<\/p>\n<p>Put another way: To even be considered for a role in the department (and the site said only the top 1% of resumes will be reviewed by Musk and Ramaswamy), applicants will have to make a financial contribution to one of Musk\u2019s businesses.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s just the potential tip of the iceberg, of course. For example, Musk also runs <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/company\/spacex\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"sc-93594058-0 fowfrQ  \" aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/company\/spacex\/\" rel=\"noopener\">SpaceX<\/a>, which has contracts with the federal government.<\/p>\n<p>While Musk has said \u201call actions of the Department of Government Efficiency will be posted online for <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2024\/11\/13\/elon-musk-doge-tesla-government-efficiency-donald-trump-white-house\/\" target=\"_self\" class=\"sc-93594058-0 fowfrQ  \" aria-label=\"Go to https:\/\/fortune.com\/2024\/11\/13\/elon-musk-doge-tesla-government-efficiency-donald-trump-white-house\/\" rel=\"noopener\">maximum transparency<\/a>,\u201d it\u2019s unclear if the two leaders of it will have to file financial disclosures.
