This is within our pre-release <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2024\/11\/gladiator-2-international-box-office-preview-1236175806\/\">projection<\/a>, and also marks the biggest overseas start for a Ridley Scott-directed film, as well as Paramount\u2019s best offshore bow for a U.S. R-rated movie.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHeading back to the Colosseum 24 years after Best Picture Oscar winner <em>Gladiator<\/em> reinvented the swords and sandals genre, this sequel was No. 1 in major markets. It performed best in the <strong>UK<\/strong> with a No. 1 launch of $11.4M at 722 locations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tNext up was <strong>France<\/strong> at $10.3M from 729 sites. <strong>Spain<\/strong> grossed $5.6M from 411, <strong>Australia<\/strong> delivered $4.9M at 353, and <strong>Mexico<\/strong> chimed in with $4.7M from 922.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tElsewhere among No. 1s, <strong>Germany<\/strong>\u2019s start was $4.3M from 650 locations, <strong>Italy<\/strong> grossed $3.8M at 530, <strong>Korea<\/strong> did $3.2M from 545 and <strong>Brazil<\/strong> was good for $3M from 759 sites.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tAll of this is ahead of the domestic (and China) release on November 22.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tWe\u2019ll get into more detail on the Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington and Connie Nielsen-starrer in just a bit (see below for how marketing and partnerships that helped amp the film).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tIn the meantime, Sony\u2019s <em><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/venom-the-last-dance\/\" id=\"auto-tag_venom-the-last-dance\" data-tag=\"venom-the-last-dance\">Venom: The Last Dance<\/a><\/em>, after <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2024\/11\/venom-the-last-dance-global-box-office-milestone-1236174513\/\">topping $400M global<\/a> earlier this week, has now surpassed the international lifetime of\u00a0<em>Venom: Let There Be Carnage<\/em>. The offshore cume is\u00a0<strong>$308.5M<\/strong>\u00a0coming off of a <strong>$17.3M<\/strong>\u00a0weekend in 66 overseas markets (-49% from last session). Worldwide, the cume is now <strong>$436.1M.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHere are the Top 5 international markets to date: <strong>China<\/strong> ($90.3M), <strong>Mexico<\/strong> ($18.8M), <strong>UK<\/strong> ($15.3M), <strong>Germany<\/strong> ($13.1M) and <strong>Korea<\/strong> ($12.1M).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tLast weekend\u2019s new entry, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/red-one\/\" id=\"auto-tag_red-one\" data-tag=\"red-one\">Red One<\/a><\/em>, added an estimated\u00a0<strong>$14.7M<\/strong>\u00a0from the sophomore overseas session. Recall this is a Warner Bros release overseas whereas Amazon MGM just put it out <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2024\/11\/box-office-red-one-dwayne-johnson-chris-evans-1236177871\/\">domestically<\/a> this frame. The drop internationally was 43% and the running offshore cume is <strong>$50M<\/strong>, for <strong>$84M<\/strong> global. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tInternationally, there were some really strong holds on this Dwayne Johnson\/Chris Evans-starrer, including Brazil (-8%), Germany (-9%), New Zealand (-14%), Switzerland (-18%), Austria (-22%), Peru (-23%), Holland (-26%), UK (-28%), Spain (-31%), Singapore (-31%), Italy (-32%), Australia (-35%), Colombia (-38%) and Malaysia (-39%).<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tUniversal\/DreamWorks Animation\u2019s charmer <em><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-wild-robot\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-wild-robot\" data-tag=\"the-wild-robot\">The Wild Robot<\/a><\/em>, which, as we reported on Saturday, has <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2024\/11\/the-wild-robot-global-box-office-milestone-1236178767\/\">passed $300M worldwide<\/a>, added <strong>$6M<\/strong> this frame (-35% versus last weekend). The international cume through Sunday is <strong>$170.7M<\/strong> for <strong>$308.5M<\/strong> global.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tUplift and strong holds were seen in several markets. <strong>Spain<\/strong> had the best performance in Week 6, now tallying $10M as <em>The Wild Robot<\/em> passed the lifetimes of\u00a0<em>How To Train Your Dragon 2<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>HTTYD3<\/em>.
