Henderson said travelers can avoid some crowds by not traveling on the day right before or after the holiday.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><strong>WASHINGTON \u2013 <\/strong>It\u2019s that time of year when millions of Americans across the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S.<\/a> begin to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/prepare\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">prepare<\/a> their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/travel\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> plans ahead of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/holidays\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thanksgiving<\/a>, and experts predict a record number of people hitting the roads and packing airports this year.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Traveling can be stressful, and you\u2019ll no doubt hear the phrase &#8220;pack your patience&#8221; a few times before you sit down with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/family\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">family<\/a> and friends to celebrate the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/holidays\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">holiday<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Your fellow travelers are not the only ones who may add to the anxiety of getting from point A to point B safely \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/extreme-weather\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">extreme weather<\/a> can have a major impact on your timely arrival at your destination.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/how-to-watch-fox-weather-on-tv\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>HOW TO WATCH FOX WEATHER<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"featured featured-video video-ct\">\n<div class=\"video-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"info\">\n<div class=\"caption\">\n<p class=\"sub-text\">Only one event in the nearly 100-year-history of the Macy&#8217;s Thanksgiving Day Parade has ever caused it to be cancelled\u2014and it wasn&#8217;t the weather. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">According to the AAA, nearly 80 million people are expected to travel 50 miles or more from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">home<\/a> during the Thanksgiving holiday travel period, which runs from Nov. 26 through Dec. 2.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;Thanksgiving is the busiest holiday for travel, and this year we\u2019re expecting to set new records across the board, from driving to flying and cruising,&#8221; said Stacey Barber, vice president of AAA Travel, <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.aaa.com\/2024\/11\/nearly-80-million-americans-expected-to-travel-over-thanksgiving\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">in a news release<\/a>. &#8220;Americans reconnect with family and friends over Thanksgiving, and travel is a big part of that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">A record 71.7 million people are expected to get to their Thanksgiving destinations by car, which is an increase of 1.3 million people compared to 2023.
