The workers will remain on the payroll through mid-January.<\/p>\n<p>The decision to lay off employees comes from the company&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/komonews.com\/news\/local\/boeing-next-ceo-robert-kelly-ortberg-aerospace-manufacturer-david-calhoun-succession-plan-august-8-quarterly-loss-14-billion-dollars-statement-production-problems-finances-investigation\" target=\"_blank\" title=\"https:\/\/komonews.com\/news\/local\/boeing-next-ceo-robert-kelly-ortberg-aerospace-manufacturer-david-calhoun-succession-plan-august-8-quarterly-loss-14-billion-dollars-statement-production-problems-finances-investigation\" class=\"themeColorForLinks\" rel=\"noopener\">$25 billion in losses <\/a>over the past five years, according to Ortberg.
