The priest was demoted for allowing Carpenter to shoot there, with the diocese confirming, \u201cThe parish did not follow diocesan policy regarding the filming on Church property, which includes a review of the scenes and script.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tAt the time, Gigantiello responded saying he was upset by the video and offered \u201csincere apologies\u201d to the church and its parishioners. He said agreed to allow the video to be filmed to \u201cstrengthen the bonds between the young creative artists who make up a large part of this community and the parish.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tA further investigation was launched after the music video controversy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/music\/music-news\/sabrina-carpenter-eric-adams-indictment-madison-square-garden-1235116402\/\">inadvertantly revealed<\/a> that Gigantiello made unauthorized financial transfers to Frank Carone, a former aide to New York City Mayor Eric Adams, who is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/politics\/politics-news\/eric-adams-indicted-new-york-city-mayor-1235112715\/\">currently under federal investigation<\/a> on charges of corruption after being indicted in September. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tBrennan said the internal church investigation unearthed other instances of administrative impropriety, including Gigantiello\u2019s use of a church credit card for \u201csubstantial\u201d personal expenses. He also transferred $1.9 million in parish funds to bank accounts affiliated with Carone.
