Now, she\u2019s teaming up with 2024\u2019s other biggest new pop star to maximize their joint yuletide slay.<\/p>\n<p class=\"col-body mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words min-w-0\">Chappell Roan will join Sabrina Carpenter for a duet in the latter\u2019s upcoming Netflix holiday special <em>A Nonsense Christmas<\/em>, which will debut on the streamer on December 6.<\/p>\n<p class=\"col-body mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words min-w-0\">Though it\u2019s not yet clear what the two will sing together, this is a collaboration that many have been asking for, especially given that they each had meteoric rises in 2024, culminating in a host of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/chappell-roan-billie-eilish-charli-180020240.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:overlapping Grammy nominations;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">overlapping Grammy nominations<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"col-body mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words min-w-0\">For the special, Carpenter will also sing duets with Tyla, Shania Twain, and Kali Uchis, while, according to the trailer, the special will also include comedic skits featuring Quinta Burnson, Cara Delevigne, and <em>SNL<\/em>\u2019s Kyle Mooney.<\/p>\n<p class=\"col-body mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words min-w-0\">While Mariah Carey is still undoubtedly the Queen of Christmas, it is nice to see a budding pop diva like Carpenter take up the mantle of producing a televised Christmas special. Lady Gaga released A Very Gaga Thanksgiving, which aired on ABC in 2011.<\/p>\n<p class=\"col-body mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words min-w-0\">Two years later, Gaga repeated the holiday cheer, accompanied by some of the biggest felt-based names in Hollywood when she released <em>Lady Gaga and the Muppets Holiday Spectacular<\/em> in support of her then-newly released album <em>Artpop<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"col-body mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words min-w-0\">Carpenter\u2019s Netflix special puts a festive button on what has been an incredible year for her, as she has not only become a chart-topper, thanks to her songs \u201cEspresso\u201d and \u201cPlease Please Please,\u201d she\u2019s also become a newly-minted gay icon (even though she has sung that \u201cthe lord forgot\u201d her own \u201cgay awakening\u201d). Carpenter even nods to her fanbase in the trailer for the special; while rummaging through racks of clothes, one garment bag is clearly labeled, \u201cFor the Gays.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"col-body mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words min-w-0\">Carpenter is currently on tour in support of her Grammy-nominated album <em>Short and Sweet<\/em>.
