data-v-438398f6=\"\">Four <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/north-carolina\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">North Carolina<\/a> state parks have reopened more than 50 days after Hurricane <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/helene\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Helene<\/a> devastated the region.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The state <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/NorthCarolinaStateParks\/posts\/pfbid0SEfG2knPCkaJA38XD6ef86qLARdRBJj2ndwpNtxJqSf2JhQUGaHSctPdiksJSok4l\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Division of Parks and Recreation<\/a> announced that Elk Knob, Lake James, New River and Stone Mountain state parks in the western part of the state have now opened at least partially.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">However, the popular Chimney Rock State Park, 25 miles southeast of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/north-carolina\/asheville\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Asheville<\/a>, remains closed.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">According to the department, Chimney Rock, Mount Mitchell and South Mountains state parks face what they are calling &#8220;long-term closures.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">That comes as Helene&#8217;s death toll in North Carolina continues to rise.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/north-carolina-helene-death-toll-103\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>NORTH CAROLINA&#8217;S DEATH TOLL FROM HELENE DISASTER RISES TO 103<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">In addition to devastating the park, Helene reshaped Main Street in the village of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/north-carolina\/chimney-rock\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chimney Rock<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The town&#8217;s mayor has vowed to rebuild.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and companies like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/permalink.php?story_fbid=pfbid034Nwt4WP5z7v325Vx8c75HoENniaaUtUqwKFVnYjvZ4w6Di2zmdhhqX8PBGEaJ7DVl&amp;id=61566896397400\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Lowe&#8217;s<\/a> are being made available to people and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/business\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">businesses<\/a> that face a long road to recovery.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/chimney-rock-north-carolina-recovery-helene\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>CHIMNEY class=\"sub-text\">Chimney Rock, North Carolina was one of the many places ravaged by Hurricane Helene. After raging floodwaters gushed through the city, the village is left reeling with what is left.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Some parts of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/lifestyle\/north-carolina-no-heat-winter-hurricane-helene\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">western North Carolina remain without heat<\/a> as cold temperatures begin to move into the region.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Several non-profits are now providing free gas for heating.<\/p>\n<div class=\"featured featured-video video-ct\">\n<div class=\"video-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"info\">\n<div class=\"caption\">\n<p class=\"sub-text\">When Hurricane Helene swept through Western North Carolina, it wiped out several gas stations.
