Tuesday marked the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/news\/college-football-playoff-top-25-third-2024-cfp-rankings-revealed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">third rankings reveal<\/a><\/strong>, and strength of schedule is going to become an even bigger talking point ahead of the final Top 25.<\/p>\n<p>Much of the conversation around strength of schedule revolves around <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/indiana-hoosiers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Indiana<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/georgia-bulldogs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Georgia<\/a><\/strong>. The Hoosiers\u2019 schedule ranks 106th in the country, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-football\/fpi\/_\/view\/resume\/sort\/resume.avgsosrank\/dir\/desc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according to ESPN\u2019s FPI<\/a>, while the Bulldogs\u2019 ranks No. 1. However, IU came in at No. 5 on Tuesday while UGA was No. 10 \u2013 adding to the debate around the rankings.<\/p>\n<p>Although the CFP outsources data from <strong>SportSource Analytics<\/strong>, executive director <strong>Rich Clark<\/strong> <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/news\/college-football-playoff-explaining-selection-committee-rankings-process-seeding-12-team-bracket-cfp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a><\/strong>, that data is not available to the public. As a result, ESPN and its FPI is a way to gauge the caliber each team\u2019s opponents are ahead of Week 13. Here are each College Football Playoff team\u2019s strength of schedule, ranked from weakest to strongest, to this point.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-army-sos-133\">Army \u2013 SOS: 133<\/h2>\n<p><strong>CFP Top 25 Ranking<\/strong>: 19<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/army-black-knights\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Army<\/a><\/strong> is one of the last remaining unbeaten teams and secured a spot in the American Athletic Conference championship after <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/navy-midshipmen\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Navy\u2019s<\/a><\/strong> loss last week. The Hoosiers\u2019 strength of schedule has come into question, though, after they came in at No. 5 this week \u2013 but they can make a statement this week against <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/ohio-state-buckeyes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ohio State<\/a><\/strong> in Columbus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Games Remaining<\/strong>: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/ohio-state-buckeyes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ohio State<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/purdue-boilermakers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Purdue<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-unlv-sos-100\">UNLV \u2013 SOS: 100<\/h2>\n<p><strong>CFP Top 25 Ranking<\/strong>: No. 24<\/p>\n<p>Early in the year, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/unlv-rebels\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UNLV<\/a><\/strong> looked like it could be in contention for a College Football Playoff bid before losses to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/syracuse-orange\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Syracuse<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/boise-state-broncos\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Boise State<\/a><\/strong>. But the Rebels jumped back into the rankings this week with two games to go despite having the third-weakest strength of schedule of the Top 25 teams.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Games Remaining<\/strong>: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/san-jose-state-spartans\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">San Jose State<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/nevada-wolf-pack\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nevada<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-tulane-sos-96\">Tulane \u2013 SOS: 96<\/h2>\n<p><strong>CFP Top 25 Ranking<\/strong>: No. 20<\/p>\n<p>A Week 13 bye means <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/tulane-green-wave\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Tulane<\/a><\/strong> has just two games remaining, including the American Athletic Conference title game. The Mustangs are looking to make a run to a conference title, but the strength of schedule is a big concern for the committee and a reason they sit just outside the Top 12.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Games Remaining<\/strong>: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/virginia-cavaliers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Virginia<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/california-golden-bears\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cal<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-notre-dame-sos-82\">Notre Dame \u2013 SOS: 82<\/h2>\n<p><strong>CFP Top 25 Ranking<\/strong>: No. 6<\/p>\n<p>A loss to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/college\/northern-illinois-huskies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Northern Illinois<\/a><\/strong> is the biggest discussion point for <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.on3.com\/teams\/notre-dame-fighting-irish\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Notre Dame<\/a><\/strong>, which suddenly finds itself in position to host a College Football Playoff game if the rankings hold.
