It&#8217;s not immediately clear where Wallen was or why he was unable to attend the ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Wallen was one of five heavy-hitters nominated in this category \u2014 he beat out <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/tags\/luke-combs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Luke Combs<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/tags\/jelly-roll\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jelly Roll<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/tags\/chris-stapleton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Chris Stapleton<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/tags\/lainey-wilson\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lainey Wilson<\/a> to claim the award.<\/p>\n<p>After Wallen&#8217;s new Entertainer of the Year status was revealed, the CMA Awards&#8217; three hosts \u2014 Wilson, <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/tags\/luke-bryan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Luke Bryan<\/a> and Peyton Manning \u2014 rushed the stage to end the show with jokes, festivities and goodwill. It comes at the conclusion of an action-packed three-hour show that included big collaborations, unforgettable performances and multiple tributes and celebrations.<\/p>\n<p>Wallen famously got <a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/hardy-morgan-wallen-cma-awards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">barred from competition<\/a> in CMA categories in 2021 after his racist slur scandal, but since then, he&#8217;s steadily rebuilt his reputation in the industry with high-selling tours, philanthropic goodwill and a steady stream of new music.<\/p>\n<p>He released his <em><a href=\"https:\/\/tasteofcountry.com\/morgan-wallen-one-thing-at-a-time-album-songs-ranked\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">One Thing at a Time<\/a><\/em> album in 2023, and since then, he&#8217;s been busy on a tour bigger than any show the singer&#8217;s ever mounted before.
