But look, I love Dubai. I love what we built there,\u201d Cohen told Deadline. \u201cWe\u2019re looking at what we\u2019re doing with Jersey. We had this Housewives drought [over the] summer, [which] everyone was complaining about, and I think it\u2019s about getting the rollout so that it\u2019s a steady stream and there\u2019s the right amount [of shows].\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<em><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-real-housewives-of-new-jersey\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-real-housewives-of-new-jersey\" data-tag=\"the-real-housewives-of-new-jersey\">The Real Housewives of New Jersey<\/a><\/em> was also put on pause after a dramatic season that divided the cast into Team Teresa Giudice and Team Melissa Gorga. Cohen told us they are not in a rush to decide on the future of <em>RHONJ<\/em> just yet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cWe are taking our time. We are in no rush. We\u2019re really gratified with what\u2019s on the slate for next year,\u201d Cohen explained. \u201c[For instance], the new Atlanta, which I\u2019m seven episodes in of watching, it\u2019s outstanding. I\u2019m so excited for people to see this, and they\u2019re going to see it early next year.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tHe continued, \u201cMiami is in the middle of shooting an absolute blowaway season. We\u2019re coming off of one of the most popular seasons of Orange County that we\u2019ve ever had. I think that\u2019s 16 or 17 years into that series. So things are really good in <em>Housewives<\/em> world. We\u2019re just being extra careful, because we want everything to succeed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tA show that was put on pause and completely rebooted was <em><a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-real-housewives-of-new-york-city\/\" id=\"auto-tag_the-real-housewives-of-new-york-city\" data-tag=\"the-real-housewives-of-new-york-city\">The Real Housewives of New York City<\/a><\/em>, which has been airing its second season on Bravo since the revamp. There have been a lot of comparisons to the previous iteration of the show and we asked Cohen his thoughts on what is creatively working with the current <em>RHONY<\/em> and what he would change about it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>RELATED<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2024\/11\/rhoa-kenya-moore-regrets-exposing-explicit-photos-co-star-led-to-exit-1236177190\/\">\u2018RHOA\u2019s Kenya Moore Regrets Exposing Explicit Photos Of Co-Star That Led To Her Exit: \u201cI Am Sorry For What I\u2019ve Done. I Didn\u2019t Have To Take It That Far\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cI think there are a lot of interesting personal stories with the women in the <em>new<\/em> New York,\u201d he said. \u201cI think the group dynamic is a little bit of a challenge this season. I think the rap on the group in season one was, \u2018Oh, there\u2019s not a lot of history there.\u2019 The interesting thing about them this season is they hang out a lot and they are a cohesive group.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tCohen explained that \u201cone of the growth areas is that a lot happens off camera, and that\u2019s for a housewife show you need everything to happen on camera.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cI really believe in this group of women,\u201d he continued. \u201cI think they\u2019re very aspirational. I think they\u2019re fun to watch. I think the clothes and the window into a different kind of New York is all what we wanted it to be.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tCohen acknowledged that he was a champion of the old <em>RHONY<\/em>, adding, \u201cWe had 13 great seasons, plus a girls trip with that group of women, which is an incredible accomplishment. A lot changed, a lot shifted in [their] world and in life \u2013 [for instance], Sonja [Morgan] is now living in Florida, Ramona [Singer] basically lives in Florida. I loved the original, but this is a new group,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tRegarding producers rebranding the new <em>RHONY<\/em> and starting it from Season 1 instead of continuing with Season 14, Cohen said, \u201cI think you have a really great IP, and it is <em>The Real Housewives of New York<\/em>. None of that was ever a consideration. We just felt like, \u2018Okay, well, this is the <em>Real Housewives of New York<\/em>.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<strong>RELATED<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2024\/11\/nbcuniversal-cable-networks-spinoff-bravo-staying-1236182691\/\">The Streaming Divide: How NBCU\u2019s Entertainment Networks Ended Up On Different Sides In Comcast Spinoff After Years Of Integration<\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThis week, Deadline reported that <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/2024\/11\/comcast-to-spin-off-cable-networks-in-major-restructuring-linear-assets-1236182014\/\">Comcast would<\/a> spin off its cable networks except for Bravo, a vote of confidence about the net\u2019s strong brand and wide mass appeal, which have spawned sold-out live events like BravoCon and Bravo Fan Fest: Miami.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cThat\u2019s exactly how I viewed it. I was like, \u2018What a tremendous vote of confidence in something that we built.\u2019 And I think it makes really good sense,\u201d he said. \u201cWe have an incredible partnership with Peacock and I know just it seems like Peacock is a very sticky home to our programming. It makes sense, given the passion for the Bravo brand that there is a streamer like Peacock that they can feed each other, basically, and so I think that makes great sense, and I\u2019m relieved because I think that the Peacock-Bravo partnership, is really strong. The overnight ratings have become a hot topic among die-hard fans on social media, but how important are these numbers to the network?<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cSo funny that you say that \u2013 I was just fishing around Twitter, and there were fans posting about the overnights for the shows,\u201d Cohen said. \u201cLet me put it to you this way \u2013 anytime I ask the folks at Bravo, \u2018Hey, let\u2019s talk about those overnights,\u2019 [Bravo will] say, \u2018Let\u2019s wait because this is not what we\u2019re measured by at this point.\u2019 I think it\u2019s important to look at the bigger picture, which is that the viewership for this portfolio of shows is really big.
