Earlier this week, DJ Snake had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nme.com\/news\/music\/dj-snake-claims-taylor-swift-will-feature-on-kendrick-lamars-next-album-3814354\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">claimed<\/a> that Taylor Swift would appear on the album as well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-106f06m\">It caps off a banner year that saw the rapper release a number of songs attacking Drake, hits that led to him nabbing seven Grammy nominations. He achieved major chart hits with Not Like Us and Like That.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-106f06m\">The new album doesn\u2019t feature any of the songs from earlier this year but does contain the track Heart Pt 6, after Drake released The Heart Part 6 in May, a diss track aimed at Lamar\u2019s ongoing song series.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-106f06m\">\u201cI don\u2019t believe I\u2019m an angry person,\u201d Lamar said earlier this year in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/rb-hip-hop\/kendrick-lamar-not-like-us-definition-sza-interview-1235806842\/\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">interview<\/a>. \u201cBut I do believe in love and war, and I believe they both need to exist. And my awareness of that allows me to react to things but not identify with them as who I am. Just allowing them to exist and allowing them to flow through me. That\u2019s what I believe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-106f06m\">Lamar is also set to be the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/sport\/article\/2024\/sep\/08\/kendrick-lamar-to-headline-this-seasons-super-bowl-half-time-show\" data-link-name=\"in body link\">half-time performer<\/a> at next year\u2019s Super Bowl. It\u2019s a headline gig that\u2019s referenced on Wacced Out Murals, a song on the new album. He raps that Nas had been the \u201conly one\u201d who congratulated him and that his \u201chard work let Lil\u2019 Wayne down\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-106f06m\">\u201cRap music is still the most impactful genre to date,\u201d Lamar said in a statement at the time. \u201cAnd I\u2019ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"dcr-106f06m\">His last album, 2022\u2019s Mr Morale &amp; the Big Steppers, was named best rap album at the Grammys.
