This number surpasses the previous record of 5,972 firearms detected in 2021.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><strong>LIMA, Peru \u2013 <\/strong>Authorities in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/south-america\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">South America<\/a> said they have arrested a man who was found with hundreds of insects strapped to his body as part of an apparent wildlife trafficking scheme.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gob.pe\/institucion\/serfor\/noticias\/1057325-intervienen-a-ciudadano-coreano-cuando-intentaba-viajar-con-mas-300-tarantulas-camufladas-en-su-cuerpo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Peru\u2019s National Forestry and Wildlife Service\u00a0said<\/a> the 28-year-old South Korean national was in possession of 320\u00a0tarantulas, 110 centipedes and nine bullet ants when he attempted to board a flight at the Jorge Ch\u00e1vez International Airport in Lima on Nov. 8.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Authorities said security officials honed in on the suspect after his stomach area appeared swollen, requiring further investigation.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">&#8220;All were extracted illegally and are part of the illegal wildlife trafficking that moves millions of dollars in the world,&#8221;
