He also explains how to find travel deals for 2024.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">I&#8217;m dreaming of a white\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/thanksgiving\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thanksgiving<\/a>?<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">That doesn&#8217;t quite have the same ring as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/lifestyle\/how-white-christmas-became-an-iconic-holiday-song\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">white Christmas<\/a>, but believe it or not, some parts of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S.<\/a> actually have notable odds of seeing snow on Thanksgiving each year.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Climatologist49\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Dr. Brian Brettschneider<\/a>, an Alaska-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/climate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">climatologist<\/a>, compiled the data found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Climatologist49\/status\/1463013646997483521\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">map below<\/a>, illustrating the historical probability of a white Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">In order to qualify for a white Thanksgiving, there must either be at least 1 inch of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/snow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">snow<\/a> on the ground on Thanksgiving morning or falling snow must accumulate to at least 0.1 inches on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/holidays\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">holiday<\/a>. Brettschneider noted snowfall observations had to date back at least 40 years for a location to be included in this analysis.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">In the Lower 48, the northern and central Rockies have the highest odds of encountering snow on Thanksgiving, ranging from a 50% to 70% chance in the highest peaks west of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/colorado\/denver\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Denver<\/a> to a 70% to 90% chance in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/lifestyle\/7-things-to-know-about-yellowstone-national-park\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Yellowstone National Park<\/a> in northwestern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wyoming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wyoming<\/a> and southwestern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/montana\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Montana<\/a>. The highest elevations of Yellowstone have a 90% to 100% chance of a white Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/thanksgiving-travel-2024-live-maps-weather-flight-delays\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>THANKSGIVING TRAVEL WINTER STORM WEATHER TRACKER: LIVE MAPS, AIRPORT STATUS, FLIGHT DELAYS, FORECAST AND MORE<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Much of the northern tier of the U.S.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/lifestyle\/7-things-to-know-about-yellowstone-national-park\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">,<\/a> from northern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/washington\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Washington<\/a> to northern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/new-england\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New England<\/a>, has a 30% to 50% chance of Turkey-Day snow. A 50% to 70% chance exists in parts of northeastern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/north-dakota\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">North Dakota<\/a>, northern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/minnesota\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Minnesota<\/a>, northern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wisconsin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Wisconsin<\/a> and the Upper Peninsula of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/michigan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Michigan<\/a>.
