{"id":130100,"date":"2024-11-26T01:22:03","date_gmt":"2024-11-25T18:22:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=130100"},"modified":"2024-11-26T01:22:03","modified_gmt":"2024-11-25T18:22:03","slug":"will-trumps-border-tsar-slash-funding-to-sanctuary-states","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=130100","title":{"rendered":"Will Trump&#8217;s &#8216;border tsar&#8217; slash funding to &#8216;sanctuary&#8217; states?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\">\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Donald Trump&#8217;s incoming &#8220;border tsar&#8221;, Tom Homan, has vowed to slash federal funding to states that do not cooperate with the administration&#8217;s promises of mass deportations of undocumented migrants. <!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Several states, including California, Illinois, New Mexico and Arizona have vowed to push back against Trump&#8217;s plans, and legal challenges are a near-certainty. <!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Trump has said he plans to use the use the US military to conduct the deportations, and Homan has said he &#8220;guarantees&#8221; that federal funding can be wielded as a tool against jurisdictions that stand in the way. <!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">There are at least 13 million undocumented immigrants living in the US. <!-- --><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\">\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">In an interview with Fox News, Homan &#8211; who was acting director of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, during Trump&#8217;s first term &#8211; said the Biden administration &#8220;turned this world upside down&#8221; with regards to immigration and the US-Mexico border.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">&#8220;This is going to happen,&#8221; Homan said of the threat to cut federal funding to states that do not cooperate. <!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Across the US, Democratic-run cities and states have said they plan to resist the mass deportation plans. <!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Last week, Los Angeles&#8217; city council <!-- --><a target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/c4gx7rd4nj7o\" class=\"sc-c9299ecf-0 bZUiKB\" rel=\"noopener\">passed a &#8220;sanctuary city&#8221; ordinance<!-- --><\/a> to bar using local resources to help federal immigration authorities. <!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">Among the states whose governors have so far said they will not aid mass deportations are California, Arizona and New Mexico &#8211; three of four US states along the US-Mexico border.<!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">In Texas, on the other hand, authorities have said they are prepared to offer the president-elect and the incoming administration <!-- --><a target=\"_self\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/c87xqwd71wzo\" class=\"sc-c9299ecf-0 bZUiKB\" rel=\"noopener\">a 1,400-acre (567) hectare parcel of land<!-- --><\/a> for the &#8220;processing, detention and co-ordination of the largest violent criminals in the nation&#8217;s history&#8221;. <!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">During his interview with Fox, Homan encouraged undocumented immigrants to &#8220;self-deport&#8221; to avoid the longer-term legal implications of being detained in the US and deported, such as being barred from re-entry for as many as 20 years. <!-- --><\/p>\n<p class=\"sc-eb7bd5f6-0 fYAfXe\">&#8220;You should leave of your own will,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Even if you have a US citizen child, you can&#8217;t petition for it [if deported].
