However, the beautiful shot is destroyed when Stitch comes stomping and smashing the castle away.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tNewcomer Maia Kealoha plays Lilo in the live-action version of the Hawaii-set 2002 animated pic. The new take was originally developed for Disney+ before shifting to a theatrical release. The cast also includes Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, Sydney Agudong, Kaipo Dudoit, Tia Carrere, Courtney B. Vance, Amy Hill, Jason Scott Lee, and Hannah Waddingham.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tDean Fleischer Camp directs the film, which follows the relationship between a lonely girl named Lilo and Stitch, an alien engineered to be a force of destruction. <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tChris Kekaniokalani Bright wrote the script from a previous draft by Mike Van Waes. Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich produce for Rideback, with Ryan Halprin, exec producing for the company.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t<em>Lilo &amp; Stitch<\/em> is based on the 2022 animated film written and directed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois.  Following the success of the feature film, a directed-to-video sequel titled <em>Stitch!
