rel=\"noopener\">travel<\/a> before the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/holidays\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">holiday<\/a> and as people begin their journeys <a rel=\"noopener\">West<\/a>, while the eastern half of the country deals with rain, <a Conditions could deteriorate on major highways like Interstate 25 and Interstate 70 before the system moves out of the region before Thanksgiving Day.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/fender-bender-alert-winter-driving-season-is-here\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>DRIVING ON THE ICE AND DRIVING IN THE SNOW: WEATHER DRIVING TIPS FOR DRIVING IN INCLEMENT WEATHER<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 data-v-4e81e892=\"\"><strong>Rain, snow roll through the East<\/strong><\/h2>\n<div class=\"featured featured-video video-ct\">\n<div class=\"video-wrapper\">\n<div class=\"info\">\n<div class=\"caption\">\n<p class=\"sub-text\">A cold front extending from the Southeast to northern New England is likely leading to travel troubles on Tuesday as heavy rain, snow and freezing rain falls across the region.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Millions of people across the eastern half of the U.S. are also getting in on the action and should pack patience as pre-Thanksgiving travel delays are expected Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The FOX Forecast Center said a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/what-is-a-cold-front\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">cold front<\/a> extending from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/southeast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Southeast<\/a> to northern <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/new-england\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New England<\/a> is producing rain, snow, freezing rain and even some rumbles of thunder in some spots.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Major airports in the East are likely to see some disruptions due to the large number of people traveling, inclement weather and low ceilings. Low <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/visibility\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">visibility<\/a> and gusty <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/wind\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">winds<\/a> will be a concern as the system slides off the East Coast.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/lifestyle\/us-travel-delays-planes-aviation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>MOST WEATHER-DELAYED AIRPORTS DURING HOLIDAYS<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/New%20England%20Winter%20Alerts.png\"\/><figcaption>This graphic shows winter weather alerts in New England.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Farther north, where temperatures have been colder, freezing rain threatened to make travel hazardous in New England for those venturing out in parts of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/vermont\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vermont<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/new-hampshire\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Hampshire<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/maine\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Maine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The good news is that temperatures will rebound as the day continues and ice will begin to melt.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/severe-weather\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Severe weather<\/a> is unlikely in the Southeast, but rain and possible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/thunderstorms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">thunderstorms<\/a> could lead to delays at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/world\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">world<\/a>\u2019s busiest airport \u2013 Hartsfield-Jackson <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/georgia\/atlanta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Atlanta<\/a> International Airport.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Most of the rain and thunderstorms will die down by Tuesday night.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/what-causes-turbulence-flight\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>HERE&#8217;S WHAT CAUSES TURBULENCE AND WHY YOU SHOULDN&#8217;T BE AFRAID OF IT<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 data-v-4e81e892=\"\"><strong>Thanksgiving winter storm<\/strong><\/h2>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/Northeast%20Thanksgiving%20Interstate%20Forecast.png\"\/><figcaption>This graphic shows the interstate driving forecast in the Northeast.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">As if the pre-Thanksgiving travel troubles weren\u2019t enough, the FOX Forecast Center is also tracking another winter storm on Thanksgiving Day that is expected to delay last-minute holiday travel, as well as for those shopping on Black Friday or starting their journeys back home.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">This is all due to the winter storm that\u2019s currently blasting the West. By Thursday, the system will be moving through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/midwest\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Midwest<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/ohio\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ohio<\/a> Valley and into the Northeast.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">The FOX Forecast Center expects a line of rain and thunderstorms to slide through the Southeast and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/tennessee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tennessee<\/a> Valley on Thursday. Some of those storms could turn severe with damaging wind gusts.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/weather-news\/wind-chill-freeze-extreme-cold-weather-alerts-changed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><u>WIND CHILL, OTHER COLD WEATHER ALERTS TO GET NEW NAMES THIS WINTER FROM NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE<\/u><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<div data-v-b8684aba=\"\">\n<div class=\"freeform-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"100%\" src=\"https:\/\/media.foxweather.com\/weather\/Late%20Week%20East%20Rain%20QPF.png\"\/><figcaption>This graphic shows the rain forecast in the East.<br \/><strong>(FOX Weather)<\/strong><\/figcaption><hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">For those of you who are driving on Thanksgiving, slowdowns on the roads and at airports are expected.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">To the north, heavier rain is likely across portions of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/category\/mid-atlantic\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mid-Atlantic<\/a> and Northeast into Thursday night. The FOX Forecast Center said the system will strengthen as it approaches the region, and winds could also begin to kick up and cause delays at airports in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/washington-dc\/washington\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Washington<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/maryland\/baltimore\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Baltimore<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/new-york\/new-york-city\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York City<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/local-weather\/pennsylvania\/philadelphia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Philadelphia<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-v-438398f6=\"\">Snow will break out from the Midwest to New England to the north of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxweather.com\/learn\/why-is-atmospheric-pressure-so-important-to-the-forecast\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">low-pressure system<\/a>.
