Many of the employees highlighted by Musk do not have public-facing jobs, and they have done nothing other than hold a title that displeases the billionaire who\u2019s anointed himself <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/donald-trump\/\" id=\"auto-tag_donald-trump\" data-tag=\"donald-trump\">Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s co-president and is expected to help the president-elect slash government bureaucracy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tCNN\u2019s review of Musk\u2019s prolific posting habits found that over the course of the past week, the billionaire boosted posts on his website revealing the names and job titles of four federal employees working in climate policy and regulation. The four targets were all women, and Musk \u2014 who owns the electric vehicle company Tesla \u2014 has a vested interest in climate policy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn one instance, Musk quote-tweeted a post highlighting the role of a woman who works as a \u201cDirector of Climate Diversification\u201d at the U.S. International Development Finance Corp. (DFC), a relatively obscure government agency. \u201cSo many fake jobs,\u201d Musk captioned his repost.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tA self-styled \u201canti-woke\u201d crusader, Musk likely took the word \u201cdiversification\u201d to mean the \u201cD\u201d in \u201cDEI.\u201d A spokesperson for the DFC <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/tech\/musk-unleashes-online-army-on-federal-workers-a-tough-way-to-find-out-shes-losing-her-job-f57a2e94\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">told <em>The Wall St. Journal<\/em><\/a><em> <\/em>earlier this week that the employee \u2014 who holds degrees in engineering, business, and water science from Oxford and MIT \u2014 serves a highly technical role focused on identifying innovative solutions to help protect American agriculture and infrastructure from the effects of natural disasters.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tCNN\u2019s investigation found that the employee had shut down several of her social media accounts following Musk\u2019s tweet.\u00a0<\/p>\n<section class=\"brands-most-popular \/\/ editors-pick-module lrv-u-margin-tb-2 lrv-u-border-a-2 u-box-shadow-5-5 lrv-u-padding-lr-1 a-span1 u-padding-b-1@tablet u-overflow-hidden\">\n<h2 id=\"section-heading\" class=\"c-heading larva  lrv-u-text-align-center u-border-color-black a-font-theme-primary-xxs lrv-u-color-black lrv-u-text-transform-uppercase u-letter-spacing-0063 lrv-u-padding-t-050 u-padding-b-0375@tablet lrv-u-padding-b-050@mobile-max lrv-u-border-b-2\">\n<p>\t\tEditor\u2019s picks<\/p>\n<\/h2>\n<\/section>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tIn another repost \u2014 highlighting a tweet from the same account that targeted the DFC employee \u2014 Musk mocked\u00a0former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi\u2019s niece, who works as a\u00a0senior adviser to climate change at the Department of Housing and Urban Development.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cNancy Pelosi\u2019s niece should not be paid $181,648.00 by the U.S. Taxpayer to be the \u2018Climate Advisor\u2019 at HUD,\u201d the original account wrote.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\t\u201cBut maybe her advice is amazing \ud83e\udd23\ud83e\udd23\u201d Musk commented.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe post included the names and titles of two other employees: the Department of Energy\u2019s chief climate officer in its loan programs office \u2014 a program that in 2010 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.energy.gov\/lpo\/tesla#:~:text=In%20January%202010%2C%20the%20Department,for%20powering%20specially%20designed%20all%2D\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">awarded Tesla<\/a> a $465 million investment \u2014 and the name of an employee serving as senior adviser on environmental justice and climate change at the Department of Health and Human Services.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tThe posts give a window into the type of roles Musk plans to target as the co-director of the so-called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/t\/department-of-government-efficiency\/\" id=\"auto-tag_department-of-government-efficiency\" data-tag=\"department-of-government-efficiency\">Department of Government Efficiency<\/a> (DOGE) \u2014 an unofficial department created specifically to house Musk\u2019s promise to gut the federal bureaucracy and purge government agencies of what he considers superfluous employees.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-line-height-copy  lrv-a-font-body-l   \">\n\tDOGE has no inherent power, and it has not been sanctioned as an official department by Congress \u2014 but according to recent reporting, Musk and his co-director, failed presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, have been in talks with members of the Trump transition and MAGA Rep.
