Not even his vehicle was ever located,\u201d the man\u2019s sister said in the GoFundMe post. \u201cAll this time I had been looking for unidentified remains. I was delighted to find him alive!\u201d\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm405p9i8000i356m4u1kk7pc@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The woman had contacted the Lassen County Sheriff\u2019s Department on Friday to say that she believed a man featured in an online article was her missing brother, the sheriff\u2019s department said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/LassenSheriff\/posts\/pfbid02zHCc3eijKU9Xq4kVauYxkdQNobXjVVo54EQm4Xo5SmEhETybjo9aLJ9cBix2HTrgl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Facebook post<\/a>.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm405p9i8000j356mbczsw0b3@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/nation\/2024\/05\/09\/unknown-man-la-hospital-search\/73634875007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USA Today article<\/a>, published in May, was a request for the public to help identify a nonverbal man who was hospitalized in Lynwood, California. The man had been found in South Los Angeles on April 15, according to medical officials cited in the article.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm405p9i8000k356mt26ftp30@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The woman, whose name has not been released by the sheriff\u2019s department to protect family privacy, told Deputy Derek Kennemore that her brother was reported missing in 1999 from Doyle, a small California town about 45 miles northwest of Reno, Nevada. She had not heard from him since.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm405p9i8000l356mwkjm12x6@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            Kennemore contacted the hospital in the article, only to learn that the man had been transferred to another LA facility in July.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm405p9i8000m356mb4hhch0a@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The deputy then reached out for help from the Los Angeles Police Department\u2019s missing person unit, which was able to fingerprint the hospitalized man and positively identify him as the same person who went missing in 1999, according to the release.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm405p9i8000n356mtmrkgljq@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cThe family will be reunited soon,\u201d the release said.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" next day, the Nor-Cal Alliance for the Missing, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/norcalallianceforthemissing\/posts\/pfbid032K9YumURo944LTXaTNKw7voFts8yfszaqR91W8mLE3r8ACUUxhNprZWeF2JjRBEyl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">non-profit<\/a> that advocates for missing individuals, announced the \u201clong-awaited and miraculous reunion\u201d in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/photo?fbid=1009817404508364&amp;set=pcb.1009817441175027\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news release<\/a>.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm405p9i8000p356mnc48png1@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cAfter being missing for 25 years, Tommy, a case close to our hearts, has been found and will soon be reunited with his loving family,\u201d the release said.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm405p9i8000q356mvii7i8dq@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            The organization began working on the man\u2019s case in 2016, according to the release.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            In the GoFundMe post, the woman added that she does not have money for supplies needed to take care of her brother who is learning how to walk again and is nonverbal.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cm405p9i8000s356mft1pmfc6@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">\n            \u201cI would like to send him a device to listen to his favorite songs (Sailing, I Want to Know What Love Is, and Time After Time) to help his memory and get some response,\u201d she said.\n    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\"
