He finished with 21 points, 16 rebounds, six assists and four blocks. <a data-i13n=\"cpos:4;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/ncaab\/players\/160039\" data-ylk=\"slk:Dylan Cardwell;cpos:4;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Dylan Cardwell<\/a> added 18 points, shooting 8-for-8 from the floor, along with six assists. <a data-i13n=\"cpos:5;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/ncaab\/players\/301709\" data-ylk=\"slk:Chad Baker-Mazara;cpos:5;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Chad Baker-Mazara<\/a> scored 14, as Auburn improved to 7\u20130 to open its season.<\/p>\n<p>Memphis took an impressive path to the Maui final, <a data-i13n=\"cpos:6;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/memphis-stuns-no-2-uconn-at-maui-invitational-after-late-technical-on-dan-hurley-who-blamed-loss-on-shy-calls-221931919.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:upsetting No. 2 UConn;cpos:6;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">upsetting No. 2 UConn<\/a> and defeating Michigan State, but eventually ran into an Auburn buzzsaw. The Tigers from the SEC ran out to a 9\u20130 lead before Memphis closed the gap to four points.<\/p>\n<p>With a 15\u201311 lead, Auburn then went on a 10\u20132 run finished off by a 3-pointer from <a data-i13n=\"cpos:7;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/ncaab\/players\/329811\" data-ylk=\"slk:Chaney Johnson;cpos:7;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">Chaney Johnson<\/a>. Bruce Pearl&#8217;s team didn&#8217;t let up from there, eventually taking a 39\u201319 lead punctuated by 3s from Broome and <a data-i13n=\"cpos:8;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/ncaab\/players\/162485\" data-ylk=\"slk:JP Pegues;cpos:8;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">JP Pegues<\/a>, followed by a dunk from Cardwell.<\/p>\n<p>Auburn devoured Memphis on the offensive boards, grabbing 11 rebounds that led to 16 second-chance points. Broome led the way here too with four offensive rebounds. Additionally, Auburn forced 11 turnovers, leading to 14 points.<\/p>\n<p>Penny Hardaway&#8217;s Tigers simply faced too deep a hole to climb out from, never getting closer than 15 points in the second half.
