Or can we keep them tucked away in the back corner of the garage?<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"H25LBX3AF5CERF4OR4NIEE7NRQ\">Here\u2019s a rundown of early winter outlooks for the 2024-2025 season issued by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weather.gov\/phi\/\">National Weather Service<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AccuWeather<\/a> and other private forecasting companies.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"article-heading\"><b>AccuWeather<\/b><\/h2>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"ZJTUSYTZIRH2DNQPNHPG5XDUCQ\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.accuweather.com\/en\/winter-weather\/winter-forecast-for-the-us-in-the-2024-25-season\/1699821\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AccuWeather is predicting<\/a> warmer than average temperatures and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.com\/weather\/2024\/10\/nj-weather-snowy-winter-ahead-see-accuweathers-forecast-for-2024-2025-season.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">less snow than normal in the Garden State<\/a> this upcoming winter, as well as in many major cities and metro regions in the eastern U.S., including New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh and Boston.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"Z2NGLY3KQVGIFBQXZGXSE2D2XY\">For snow enthusiasts, the winter forecast looks better in much of interior New England and other parts of the far northern U.S.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"ZNCJX5VG45CSJCSVTY2B4N6TVA\">Forecasters from AccuWeather say warm water temperatures in the Gulf of Mexico and northern Pacific, a weak La Ni\u00f1a weather pattern and a tight polar vortex are three major factors contributing to this winter\u2019s weather outlook.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"article__image\">\n<div href=\"https:\/\/www.noaa.gov\/news-release\/us-winter-outlook-warmer-and-drier-south-wetter-north\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">winter outlook for the 2024-2025 season<\/a> released on Oct. 17, forecasters from the Climate Prediction Center \u2014 affiliated with the National Weather Service \u2014 said a slowly developing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.com\/weather\/2021\/10\/la-nina-has-returned-will-this-bring-more-snow-to-nj-this-winter.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">La Ni\u00f1a weather pattern<\/a> will likely play a role in how the upcoming season shapes up.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"ITFJCQJR3RAN5JAVXGWPZSHRZ4\">The agency is predicting warmer than average temperatures in the Garden State \u2014 along with New York and most of Pennsylvania \u2014 but offered no firm predictions on how wet or snowy the upcoming winter season will be in these areas of the country.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"IFZ3PYCSZBF45MJTOVEGQHCANA\">The winter outlook says there are \u201cequal chances of below-average, near-average or class=\"article-heading\"><b>NY NJ PA Weather<\/b><\/h2>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"FULYBLKY4RAH3CJAN2GZ4GJF7Y\">In its <a href=\"https:\/\/nynjpaweather.com\/public\/2024\/10\/20\/winter-forecast-for-2024-25-public-version\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">winter forecast<\/a>, issued in late October, the private <a href=\"https:\/\/nynjpaweather.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NY NJ PA Weather forecasting company<\/a> said a \u201cslowly developing La Ni\u00f1a, a strengthening polar vortex, and very warm waters in the tropical Atlantic\u201d will all be big factors in the upcoming winter\u2019s temperatures and storm patterns.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"QQWJUEPXIJAKDEWMYMEQCOS6BM\">\u201cThe polar jet stream will be more amplified than not, supporting a high threat of storms over the eastern two-thirds of the nation,\u201d the Monmouth County-based company said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"LXX7JXEXWVGNJEMQRCF2KFKNRY\">NY NJ PA Weather says New Jersey\u2019s northwestern region can expect near-average temperatures and near-normal to slightly above-normal snowfall accumulation this winter.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"2QTSXQGZYVHAVFL5JCAFODLW3U\">Most of northern and central New Jersey will likely have near-normal to slightly above-normal temperatures and near-normal to slightly below-normal snowfall. But the company says a pattern shift could bring slightly higher snowfall to those areas of the state.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"F6ZP23TTGNASJCTPFK5IGRMC7Y\">South Jersey will likely see above-average temperatures and below-normal snowfall accumulation this winter.
