Kyoto University professor Koji Murata is confident in the humble yet durable satellite because planes in the early 20th century were made of wood, as he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/technology\/space\/worlds-first-wooden-satellite-developed-japan-heads-space-2024-11-05\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:told;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">told<\/a> Reuters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"col-body mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words min-w-0\">Murata explained that since no water or oxygen exists in space, wood is more resilient in the cosmos than on Earth.
