(WKRC) &#8211; Officers arrested a 12-year-old boy after he stole his grandfather&#8217;s car and drove 160 miles across the state, eventually leading police on a &#8220;short pursuit&#8221; that ended with a PIT maneuver.<\/p>\n<p>The Grant County Sheriff&#8217;s Office (GCSO) announced on Wednesday afternoon that deputies had arrested a 12-year-old boy who first came on their radar when a police department over 160 miles away notified them that the child stole his grandfather&#8217;s car.<\/p>\n<p>The Issaquah Police Department believed that the 12-year-old had a connection to Moses Lake, which is located in Grant County, and told the sheriff&#8217;s department he could be heading in that direction.<\/p>\n<p>The GCSO reported deputies found the car at around 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday in a residential area of Moses Lake.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The 12-year-old driver then led deputies on a short pursuit that was safely ended near Randolph Road and State Route 17 when a deputy applies a PIT maneuver to the stolen car,&#8221; the GCSO said in a press release.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Seattle Times<\/em> said the 12-year-old drove a total of 161 miles before his encounter with the police.<\/p>\n<p>The GCSO reported no injuries and said the damages done to the vehicles involved was &#8220;minimal.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The unnamed 12-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle and felony eluding. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<br \/><div data-type=\"_mgwidget\" data-widget-id=\"1660802\">\r\n<\/div>\r\n<script>(function(w,q){w[q]=w[q]||[];w[q].push([\"_mgc.load\"])})(window,\"_mgq\");\r\n<\/script>\r\n<br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/local12.com\/news\/nation-world\/12-stole-car-grandfather-arrest-pit-maneuver-year-old-child-kid-steal-drove-drive-160-miles-mile-across-state-grandpa-thief-crash-washington-pursuit-chase-teenager-minor-juvenile-juvie-family\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>GRANT COUNTY, Wash.
