{"id":131881,"date":"2024-11-30T20:19:47","date_gmt":"2024-11-30T13:19:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=131881"},"modified":"2024-11-30T20:19:47","modified_gmt":"2024-11-30T13:19:47","slug":"top-cancer-surgeon-accused-of-duping-relative-with-dementia-into-bequeathing-her-ues-co-op","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=131881","title":{"rendered":"Top cancer surgeon accused of duping relative with dementia into bequeathing her UES co-op"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A top cancer surgeon allegedly duped her Upper East Side relative struggling with dementia into changing her will to inherit her $749,000 Carnegie Hill co-op, according to a lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>Ann Marie Egloff is trying to sell off Jo Ann Paganetti\u2019s one bedroom pad, despite objections from Paganetti\u2019s daughter, Georgia Lee Sarah Andrews, who sued the Boston doctor Nov. 27 in a bid to stop the sale. <\/p>\n<p>Paganetti began showing signs of severe dementia in 2018, after suffering a stroke, Andrews said in her Manhattan Supreme Court filing. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Dr. Ann Marie Egloff works at Brigham and Women\u2019s Hospital, where her specialty is neck and head cancers. <span class=\"credit\">Linkedin Ann Marie Egloff<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Despite giving Andrews up for adoption in 1966, Paganetti had long pursued a relationship with her biological daughter, making her the beneficiary of her 1986 will, and left her the East 94th street co-op, Andrews contended in the legal papers. <\/p>\n<p>Egloff 58, a doctor at Brigham and Women\u2019s Hospital, got involved in July 2023, when Paganetti, a former Fashion Institute of Technology professor, landed in the Upper East Side Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>That month, a lawyer representing Egloff showed up and tried to get Paganetti to sign what appeared to be estate planning papers \u2014 over the objection of her doctors and while the older woman was \u201cunder the influence of psychotropic medication,\u201d according to the lawsuit.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Despite the litigation, the apartment at 152 East 94th Street is in contract with a buyer. <span class=\"credit\">Helayne Seidman<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cDr. Egloff throughout her involvement in the decedent\u2019s affairs took steps to isolate the decedent from the rest of her family,\u201d Andrews said in court papers. <\/p>\n<p>A trust was established in March, and the co-op shares were transferred into it by April 18 by AKAM Living Services, a property management firm, who were also named as defendants.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>The four-room apartment boasts 1 bedroom and one bathroom. <span class=\"credit\">streeteasy.com<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>DNA testing showed all three women were related, but it\u2019s unclear how.
