doesn\u2019t put you to sleep at all.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">From the <a class=\"anchor_link__6t7IO\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ladbible.com\/youtube\">YouTube<\/a> channel, Medical Secrets, the aesthetician explained in response to a commenter claiming that it isn\u2019t a sleep drug, that it\u2019s actually a lot different than many people think.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">He began: \u201cYou are absolutely correct, <a class=\"anchor_link__6t7IO\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ladbible.com\/science\">anaesthesia<\/a> is not sleep on that table back there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">He explained: \u201cWe give you medication that turns off your brain, making you completely unconscious so you can\u2019t perceive pain.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">\u201cThen we give some medications that paralyse your body if needed, then we also give some medications to wipe your memories so that you\u2019re less anxious and so that we minimise the risk of PTSD under anesthesia.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">That\u2019s <a class=\"anchor_link__6t7IO\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ladbible.com\/weird\">crazy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">What he said is true.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">According to the National Institute of Health: \u201cDespite the many similitudes, it is clear that anesthetic-induced unconsciousness is not sleep.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">\u201cThere are some fundamental physiological differences present that suggest that the two states are not as close neural correlates as is often described.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">While it\u2019s cool to think about the science behind it and the difference between being drugged and being asleep, it\u2019s also absolutely horrifying, and viewers agree.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">One person wrote: \u201cSounds so much more scary when you describe it that way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Another said: \u201cYou&#8217;re giving me anxiety rn describing this!\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">Someone else agreed: \u201cThis is actually more horrifying.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">\u201cThis very very true!! Being under is so weird \u2026. First you\u2019re counting \u2026then boom you are in recovery\u2026 4-6 hours only felt like 4-5 minutes!,\u201d commented another.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">For others, it didn\u2019t go that smoothly and they have some issues about surgery now.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">A person shared: \u201cThis is TRAUMATIZING! After my 1st open heart surgery my brain woke up before my body so I could hear my mother in the surgeon and my doctors in the room with me but I was not able to move any part of my body move my head over my eyes nothing it was absolutely mortifying!<\/p>\n<p class=\"text_text__nEn66\">\u201cThe ventilator was breathing at a different rate than my natural body was trying to. This lasted over an hour.
