(AP Photo\/Matt Freed)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>President-elect <strong>Donald Trump<\/strong> announced 100% tariffs on countries that move to replace the US dollar on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>In a Truth Social post, Trump took aim at \u201cBRICS Countries\u201d \u2014 meaning Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates \u2014 over longstanding <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/dollar-dominance-brics-summit-global-economy-d4322e1f99480962eccc05628a0ddb64\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">efforts<\/a> to do away with the US dollar currency.<\/p>\n<p>Trump demanded a \u201ccommitment\u201d from these countries that they will \u201cneither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty U.S. Dollar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe idea that the BRICS Countries are trying to move away from the Dollar while we stand by and watch is OVER. We require a commitment from these Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty U.S. Dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs, and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful U.S. Economy. They can go find another \u2018sucker!&#8221;\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Any country that tries to move away from US currency should \u201cwave goodbye to America,\u201d Trump added.<\/p>\n<p><iframe class=\"truthsocial-embed\" style=\"max-width: 100%; border: 0;\" src=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/113573130299319701\/embed\" width=\"600\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is no chance that the BRICS will replace the U.S. Dollar in International Trade, and any Country that tries should wave goodbye to America,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Trump also said on Truth Social that he spoke with Canadian Prime Minister <strong>Justin Trudeau<\/strong> this week about efforts to stop drug smuggling at the border. The meeting followed Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mediaite.com\/politics\/trump-pledges-to-slap-a-25-tariff-on-all-products-from-canada-and-mexico-plus-10-on-imports-from-china\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announcing<\/a> tariffs on all goods from Canada, as well as Mexico and China.<\/p>\n<p><iframe class=\"truthsocial-embed\" style=\"max-width: 100%; border: 0;\" src=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/113573136856113648\/embed\" width=\"600\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>\u201cPrime Minister Trudeau has made a commitment to work with us to end this terrible devastation of U.S. Families.
