She appeared on the popular quiz show \u201cI\u2019ve Got a Secret.\u201d Life magazine published a brief article with a photo of her injury under the headline, \u201cA big bruiser from the sky.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"4KKBR4KSHBCFTJ3JQJACKHKA4M\">The object was turned over to the Air Force and then the Smithsonian Institution before returning to Alabama, where it was the subject of a legal struggle between Ann and Hewlett Hodges &#8212; her spouse &#8212; and their landlord over who owned it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"VPAMRWA5YFB7NEQXL4C37O7BSE\">The case was settled, with the 8.5 lbs. meteorite going into Ann Hodges\u2019 possession. She donated it to the Alabama Museum of Natural History at the University of Alabama, where it is on permanent display.<\/p>\n<p class=\"article__paragraph article__paragraph--left\" id=\"NEDVJ3CCHJFCJJDT2VQHR55T3A\">Hodges did not ask for or receive any profit from her donation, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/news.ua.edu\/2022\/11\/a-gift-like-no-other-ann-hodges-and-the-meteorite\/\">a 2022 University of Alabama<\/a> article.
