{"id":132219,"date":"2024-12-01T19:27:49","date_gmt":"2024-12-01T12:27:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=132219"},"modified":"2024-12-01T19:27:49","modified_gmt":"2024-12-01T12:27:49","slug":"max-verstappen-given-additional-fia-punishment-after-strange-qatar-gp-penalty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hotvideos24.online\/?p=132219","title":{"rendered":"Max Verstappen given additional FIA punishment after strange Qatar GP penalty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-layout-key=\"-fb+5w+4e-db+86\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"7910942971\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Not only stripped of pole with an unusual one-place grid drop, Max Verstappen also saw a penalty point added to his superlicence.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/driver\/max-verstappen\/results\">Verstappen<\/a> thought he had put his Red Bull on pole for Sunday\u2019s Qatar Grand Prix, clocking a time 0.055s faster than George Russell in the Mercedes, but it is now Russell who inherits pole after the stewards docked the slow-moving Verstappen a place on the grid.<\/p>\n<h2>Max Verstappen also receives superlicence penalty point<\/h2>\n<p>The stewards had already warned that driving too slowly on a cool-down lap would be given the iron-fist treatment after Sprint qualifying, with Verstappen\u2019s team-mate Sergio Perez reprimanded for that.<\/p>\n<p>Their Perez verdict ended with the following warning: \u201cThe stewards advise all competitors that particular attention will be paid to adherence to the event notes in the qualifying session and that any potentially dangerous behaviour or impeding may result in the application of grid penalties.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In Verstappen\u2019s case, he received the very rare punishment of a one-place <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetf1.com\/standings\">grid drop<\/a> after being deemed to have been driving too slowly in preparation for his final pole attempt, with Russell taking evasive action as he reached the Red Bull near the Turn 11 apex, calling it \u201csuper dangerous\u201d over team radio.<\/p>\n<p>And in addition, the stewards have decided to add a penalty point to Verstappen\u2019s superlicence, which takes him to six in total. Car 1 was well outside of the delta and the driver of Car 1 explained he had let Cars 4 and 14 past.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe driver of Car 63 claimed that he had adhered to the delta and did not expect Car 1 to be on the racing line. He stated that if a car was going slow in a high speed corner, it should not be on the racing line.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe stewards regard this case as a complicated one in that clearly Car 1 did not comply with the Race Director\u2019s Event Notes and clearly was driving, in our determination, unnecessarily slowly considering the circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was obvious the driver of Car 1 was attempting to cool his tyres. He also could see Car 63 approaching as he looked in his mirror multiple times whilst on the small straight between Turns 11 and 12.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnusually, this incident occurred when neither car was on a push lap.
