Authorities <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2024\/12\/01\/us-news\/oregon-hikers-husband-charged-with-murder-after-she-and-2-dogs-went-missing\/?utm_campaign=iphone_nyp&amp;utm_source=pasteboard_app\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-nyp-affiliate=\"true\">charged her husband<\/a>, Michel Fournier, 71, with second-degree murder after her body was found on the side of a highway last Friday.<\/p>\n<p>The pups, Elrond and Elros, were nowhere in sight.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>A missing poster for Susan \u201cPhoenix\u201d Lane-Fournier\u2019s two dogs, who <br \/>disappeared with her.  <span class=\"credit\">Always Our Phoenix\/Facebook<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>But on Saturday, the Multnomah County Sheriff\u2019s Office recovered two dead dogs at the Mount Hood National Forest, according to the Clackamas County Sheriff\u2019s Office. <\/p>\n<p>The bodies have since been transferred over to the CCSO and investigators are working to determine the exact identities of the dogs. <\/p>\n<aside class=\"single__inline-module aligncenter wp-block-nypost-editor-primary-tag\">\n<\/aside>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large\"><figcaption>Lane-Fournier was found dead on the side of a highway. <span class=\"credit\">Always Our Phoenix\/Facebook<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Lane-Fournier initially vanished while she was thought to be out hiking with her dogs at the Mount Hood National Forest. When she didn\u2019t show up to work the following day, her friends reported her disappearance. A friend also spotted her truck near the forest on Nov. 23. <\/p>\n<p>Her death has since been ruled a homicide.
