Manufacturing PMI came in at 50.3 \u2014 its highest level since April \u2014 beating the 50.2 expected by economists polled by Reuters. Manufacturing PMI came in at 50.1 in October.<\/p>\n<p>China&#8217;s non-manufacturing PMI slipped to 50.0 from 50.2 in the previous month, while composite PMI held steady at 50.8.<\/p>\n<p>A reading higher than 50 shows expansion in activity, while below that shows contraction.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, manufacturing PMI readings from S&amp;P Global will be released for economies throughout Asia, <a href=\"#\">including the Caixin PMI survey for China.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Australia&#8217;s retail sales rose 3.4% in October, its fastest year-on-year rise since May 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia will disclose its inflation numbers for November later in the day.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p>Australia&#8217;s\u00a0<span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"LiveBlogArticle-QuoteInBody-3\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.AXJO\/\">S&amp;P\/ASX 200<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> traded up 0.14%, ending at a record closing high of 8,447.9.<\/p>\n<p>South Korea&#8217;s markets were the outlier on Monday, after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.motie.go.kr\/kor\/article\/ATCL3f49a5a8c\/169872\/view\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">preliminary trade data<\/a> revealed exports grew at their slowest pace since September 2023 over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.motie.go.kr\/kor\/article\/ATCL3f49a5a8c\/169872\/view?mno=&amp;pageIndex=1&amp;rowPageC=0&amp;displayAuthor=&amp;searchCategory=0&amp;schClear=on&amp;startDtD=&amp;endDtD=&amp;searchCondition=1&amp;searchKeyword=#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Exports grew 1.4% year on year in November,<\/a> missing expectations of a 2.8% growth from economists polled by Reuters and a sharp decline from the 4.6% rise in October.<\/p>\n<p>The <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"LiveBlogArticle-QuoteInBody-6\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.KS11\/\">Kospi<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> slipped marginally to 2,454.48, and the small-cap Kosdaq fell 0.35% to a 23 month low of 675.84.<\/p>\n<p>Japan&#8217;s benchmark <span class=\"QuoteInBody-quoteNameContainer\" data-test=\"QuoteInBody\" id=\"LiveBlogArticle-QuoteInBody-7\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.N225\/\">Nikkei 225<\/a><span class=\"QuoteInBody-inlineButton\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistContainer\" id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\" data-analytics-id=\"-WatchlistDropdown\"><button class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-watchlistButton\" aria-label=\"Add To Watchlist\" data-testid=\"dropdown-btn\"><span class=\"AddToWatchlistButton-addWatchListFromTag\"\/><\/button><\/span><\/span><\/span> was up 0.8% and closed at 38,513.02, while the broad-based Topix was 1.27% higher at 2,714.72.<\/p>\n<p>Hong Kong&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.HSI\/\">Hang Seng index<\/a> gained 0.65% in its last hour of trade, while mainland China&#8217;s CSI 300 was up 0.79% to close at 3,947.63. The Hang Seng Mainland Properties Index advanced about 0.42% after growth in China&#8217;s <a href=\"#\">new home prices accelerated in November.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"group\">\n<p>On Friday in the U.S., the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.DJI\/\">Dow Jones Industrial Average<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.SPX\/\">S&amp;P 500<\/a>\u00a0rose to new heights and recorded their best months of 2024 amid a shortened trading day.<\/p>\n<p>The S&amp;P 500 added 0.56%, while the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/quotes\/.IXIC\/\">Nasdaq Composite<\/a>\u00a0jumped 0.83%. The Dow climbed 188.59 points, or 0.42%.
